to think that baby clothes sizes are huge!

Out of curiosity... when did your baby/babies grow in to their ‘newborn’ clothes?

My DS is 11 weeks old and still fits in to a handful of ‘tiny baby’ clothes. Newborn stuff is still a little baggy (and looks very cute!). ‘Up to one month’ is huge.

He was 5lbs when he was born, so quite tiny. He’s my only baby however so didn’t feel small as it’s all I knew. Now however he's still small but much bigger than a newborn!

The first thing anyone says STILL when they meet him is ‘oh my god he’s tiny!!’ which is true (but I secretly get bored of hearing it...).

What’s your experience? Anyone else find that baby clothes are massive? I guess it's so they get longer use out of them :)

I think it depends on the brand as well tbh. I find Sainsbury's, Mothercare and Boots to be huge, Asda in the middle and Tesco to run quite small

DS was 9lb1, and v long. I had a feeling that he was going to be, so I'd only bought a couple of newborn sized babygros. They were left at the hospital for them to use - they were too short for DS!

I thought he was massive (he was a big lad to be fair) but now when I get his going home outfit out of the drawer, it seems tiny 😊 I'm now buying him age 4-5 clothes to make sure he gets a bit of growing room - he's just turned 3, and is growing like a weed!

One of my sons was just over 8lb at birth but was too long for many of the newborn babygrows so went into 0-3. Still has long legs and big feet today

My 5lb13 boy was in tiny baby clothes for ages, then moved into small baby... finally got into 0-3 at about ten weeks old! (He lost lots of weight at first)
His twin was 6lb15 and was in small baby/first size for a month (she lost lots of weight but regained a lot quicker) but was in newborn/0-3 at about a month! Since then she has always moved into the next size early whereas my son moves into them at about the right age. They are massive now mind!
