For me it's cheese! Any kind of cheese!!!! I am in LOVE with CHEESE!!! Cream cheese, cheddar cheese, brie, mozzarella, provolone, you get the idea! Grin

However, I have a friend tell me that she thought it was disgusting! Shock even though she relished ketchup sandwiches! Blergh!

I knew another guy who could simply eat a raw onion like an apple, no problem! My autist mind thought, "I wonder if he will be a serial killer one day?" I know, I'm weird! HA!

What one food do you enjoy tremendously on it's own, but according to some people, it makes them want to gag?

Beetroot and cream cheese on crackers!
Cheeseburger pizza from dominoes - love the gherkins on it
Any spread (marmite, nutella, pate, cream cheese) spread really thickly on toast (but never a sandwich)

Celery

Olives

Picked onions

Cold baked beans

Cold potatoes

@chemenger, my (adult) DS always slathers burgers with mayonnaise and ketchup. He calls it a pusburger.

For me it's capers. Straight out of the jar with a teaspoon - suck the brine out then chew the capers. Yum.

I have also been known to sandwich a thick slice of butter between two cream crackers or Cornish wafers...

booksandcaffeine · 10/01/2019 19:25

Gherkins. I love drinking the vinegar afterwards too.

villainousbroodmare · 10/01/2019 19:28

The marzipan lovers should try homemade almond paste. It's much better.
I also love crispy uncooked two-minute noodles.
And ultra-soft white sliced pan, the softest slices from at least four slices in. Tear the crusts off.
Condensed milk.
There's a Woolworth's honey and mustard salad dressing that you could drink on its own. Blush

pontiouspilates · 10/01/2019 19:29

Fuckbrussel Another vote for capers here. I could and have eat a whole jar!

MotsDHeureGoussesRames · 10/01/2019 19:30

Anchovies straight from the tin!

MotsDHeureGoussesRames · 10/01/2019 19:31

Also good quality salt crystals Blush.

Outherelivingmybestlife · 10/01/2019 19:32

Marmite, on a spoon, like a lollipop.

goose1964 · 10/01/2019 19:34

Raw cabbage stalk, it's a bit like radish but doesn't repeat

minionsrule · 10/01/2019 19:35

When i was a teenager i used to take a bowl of pickled onions up to bed to munch on whilst i read my book.

ifeeltheneedtheneedforspeed · 10/01/2019 19:39

Pickled onions, straight from jar whole, the stronger the better!

Mumberjack · 10/01/2019 19:39

Those little pickled onions.
Soft cheese.
Squirty cream.

When I was little I used to eat spoonfuls of icing sugar from the packet. And those skinless chipolatas straight from the fridge, raw.

Polony Sausage, the cheap stuff in a red plastic coating ... Sandwich spread straight from the jar. We were pretty much on the bread line as a kid. Polony and Sandwich spread butties for tea meant Mum had a bit of spare cash at the end of the week and life was good. We'd all sit on the carpet, (yellow and brown swirls mmmm fetching) Friday evening, and eat eggs from our chicken usually hard boiled, tarty sour apples from our tiny tree in Dad's 'allotment garden' (basically a strip of soil in the yard about a foot wide) and a polony or sandwich spread on a half an oven bottom muffin and that was tea. If we were going to see Grandma in Ashton we'd always come back with 2lb of broken biscuits from the biscuit man at Ashton Market. We had absolutely nothing really. Funny that I find such comfort in foods from that time. Hmm

FuckBrussel · 10/01/2019 19:55

@pontious, they're good, aren't they? It's the texture as well...

Theunreasonableone · 10/01/2019 19:57

Horseradish. I love it!

needanappp · 10/01/2019 20:07

Mint sauce sandwiches. Literally just smack a load of mint sauce (thinned with vinegar) on a piece of bread, fold it over and there you go. Amazing.

Also, on a few very rare occasions - raw sausage Blush my aunty introduced me to it when I was like 10 (I know, what was she thinking?!) and I've probably had a little taste of raw sausage a handful of times since. The only reason I don't don't often is because it's obviously really dangerous, the taste I love BlushGrin

Lemonyfuckit · 10/01/2019 20:09

Gravy, oh yes. Would totally ADORE to have a whole bowlful if my Mum's proper roast dinner gravy all to myself, like soup.

lotusbell · 10/01/2019 20:09

@FissionChips tell me more. Eaten hot? How long do you boiled them for? Do they go soft?

lotusbell · 10/01/2019 20:10

@Lemonyfuckit ah someone else who likes some veg and meat with their gravy! I'd drink it if I could.

greenpop21 · 10/01/2019 20:10

Celery sticks dipped in alioli!

greenpop21 · 10/01/2019 20:11

Anything dipped in alioli actually. Grin

greenpop21 · 10/01/2019 20:12

Raw broccoli, mushrooms.....dipped in alioli.

Lemonyfuckit · 10/01/2019 20:14

Oh yes cold leftover anything, eaten furtively straight from the fridge. And dipped in gravy, if possible. This thread is ace, I've found my people.
