Inspired by another thread about worst jobs. What are the coolest/sexiest jobs?

OP posts:
littlecloudling · 08/01/2019 21:30

Richard Branson?

BlackPrism · 08/01/2019 21:31

@Tortycat all the male medics I know have been pretentious arseholes in it for the kudos.

Paramedics are more my style

spiderplantsalad · 08/01/2019 21:32

The vet who looks after my cats is rather nice. So another vote for vet here.

NotAColdWomanHenry · 08/01/2019 21:36

I love brainy and geeky but also hands-on – like someone who designs robots or satellites.

Surgeons are famous for being mostly arrogant egomaniacs, and every psychiatrist I have met is massively screwed up and strange, so maybe not the medical profession for me.

AveAtqueVale · 08/01/2019 21:38

he wears this tight fitting black long sleeved top thingy that really pushes my buttons. Mujos I HATE the black tops! I mean I find DH sexy obviously, including his policeyness, but the texture of those tops gives me the heebie-jeebies Confused.

LiGlitterBug · 08/01/2019 21:39

Ooh my husband is a doctor! Very sexy when doing the manager side of things in his fancy suit- especially when I tag along to conferences and get a nice hotel stay out of it. Sadly a bit less sexy when he’s come off a long stint of night shifts in ED (over Christmas) and is asleep on the sofa in manky scrubs! Also it means that whenever we meet up with family or friends he ends up acting as a personal GP to them all.

SadCupcake · 08/01/2019 21:39

My hubby is a Close Protection Bodyguard.

Sexy because.. suits.

But he's constantly on the job whether that's looking after someone important, being around me and he is particularly protective over my bump at the moment! Can't wait to see what he is like with our son Smile

HumberElla · 08/01/2019 21:40

Fueled !! Thanks for confirming. I’d hate my (slightly Mills and Boon) illusion to be shattered!

Icequeen01 · 08/01/2019 21:40

DH used to be a DCI of a Major Crime Unit which I used to find strangely sexy. Sadly he's retired now and although still works full time he's not doing anything remotely sexy!

NashvilleQueen · 08/01/2019 21:44

Definitely blacksmith. It’s the apron I think.

I’m a lawyer myself. I do admit that there’s a ready wit and quick mind in many of my colleagues (male and female)l obviously) which is attractive.

Thesmallthings · 08/01/2019 21:50

My df is works on planes in the military. He was originally from Texas to.
Sexy uniform, comes home dirty and still has a bit of southern accent, esspicaly she he says yes man.

Firefighter
And guy who worked on oil rigs would also be sexy.

Iv just realised I have a thing for a man who works with his hands and it gets dirty.

Needadvice101 · 08/01/2019 21:53

I knew medic would feature prominently but honestly you people have a “scales on the eyes” opinion of medics/surgeons.

Most work long hours, self absorbed, care a lot more about their careers than patients and high divorce rate.

I say that as a Surgeon myself.

Ahem, @ MissWilmottsGhost

Pachyderm1 · 08/01/2019 21:55

I wish the lawyers I work with were as sexy as some of the descriptions upthread 😂

SushiMonster · 08/01/2019 21:55

Not the job, the person for me.

I could find a man in any job sexy if they had the right personality, drive, intellect and looks!

PotOOOOOOOO · 08/01/2019 21:56

I’ve always had a thing for teachers.

Polarbearflavour · 08/01/2019 21:57

Nobody has mentioned civil engineers and I’m not surprised. The ones I worked with were not sexy!

SpiritedLondon · 08/01/2019 21:57

Oh god - an American saying “ Yes ma’am“ 😍

I’m very familiar with police officers of the Close Protection and Detective persuasion so I can understand that. But I do have a little soft spots for Drs.

GobblersKnob · 08/01/2019 22:00

Ghostbuster.

GobblersKnob · 08/01/2019 22:00

Or bad tempered, but ultimately beautiful weather man.

PurpleWithRed · 08/01/2019 22:01

I do find an authoritative uniform very sexy, and also a man in a 'caring' profession, and also a man who is better than me at housework. DH is an ex army medic, now a paramedic, 100% more housetrained than I am, and I think he is very sexy indeed and some of his colleagues are even sexier

LottieLou90 · 08/01/2019 22:01

My DH is a mechanic (they call them technicians) for a very prestigious dealership.

I find it very sexy. Especially if he is fixing mine or family / friends cars in his work gear 😍 maybe it’s a trade thing I like?

policeandthieves · 08/01/2019 22:04

I would say even out of medics surgeons are particular knobs and despite close working proximity (or maybe because of) would be hard pushed to find even one vaguely sexy or cool

OneStepMoreFun · 08/01/2019 22:07

DH had a very glamorous job when we first met - working with of famous writers, actors and musicians, who all thought the world of him, as he was very good at his job. We used to get invited to lots of glamorous parties and events, and were sent bottles of vintage champagne by Hollywood directors. I found that very sexy at the time. Especially as DH is not at all the kind of arrogant person you might expect to find in that world but is really sweet and quiet and self-deprecating..

All much quieter these days as he changed profession.

SalmonLeBon · 08/01/2019 22:07

I married a military officer. And I am a vet. This makes us some kind of sexy power couple, judging by this thread 🤣. In reality, we're just a boring couple in our mid-40s, and it shows in the waistline (DH), wrinkles and grey hairs (me).

And as for investment bankers being sexy - why? The money? The ones I know are mostly arrogant arsewipes.
