I've named changed for this.

In your opinion. Not listening to social media or hear say or stereotypes.

If you were to go on a date what would be the one job that would put you off?

I think my husbands would come in the top 3 😩😩😩.

It's not new we have been together 12 years but when I mention it on here no matter what the bloody subject is they use his job as the reason for my post!!!

OP posts:

Fishmonger, I have a friend who is one and he smell terrible after work, I could't deal with the smell.

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 08/01/2019 21:14

Been like what, OP?

SuziQ10 · 08/01/2019 21:16

PT hands down.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 08/01/2019 21:16

Stage-cleanser after Tom Jones concerts.

Imagine telling everybody that you tread the boards every evening at some of the biggest, most prestigious venues in the country - but never being able to mention the fact that you have to do it wearing a hazmat suit and wielding a litter-picker and rolls of medical-waste-grade yellow bin bags Grin

Butchyrestingface · 08/01/2019 21:16

I can’t see the fuss re gynaecologists. What’s the worry? Is that they’ll judge your genitalia? They don’t spend their days looking at porn-star-perfect vulvas, y’know.

That wouldn't bother me either. It might put him under a bit of performance pressure as I would - perhaps naively - expect him to er, know what to do.

Rufus27 · 08/01/2019 21:17

@oreo1234 I wouldn’t worry too much as, whatever the profession, there will be some who believe the stereotype. For this reason, I tend not to tell people what my DP does until they actually know me.

MarthasGinYard · 08/01/2019 21:17

Personal trainer

Abbatoir worker

Traffic warden

Thewifipasswordis · 08/01/2019 21:17

@SheWoreBlueVelvet everyone in the forces and emergency services is having it off at some point. It's the job that does it and creates the opportunities.

I have mates who are coppers and they even shagged around on their copper spouses 🙄 who were also shagging around too.

I have mates in the Para's too and they're all at it. 2nd and 3rd lives too 😯 One has 4 girlfriends ffs.

lboogy · 08/01/2019 21:18

Loan shark and anything to do with strip clubs/ using women's bodies to sell sex . Oh and a sun or mail journalist. They are as morally bankrupt as a pimp or loan shark imo

LightDrizzle · 08/01/2019 21:18

Abattoir worker here too I’m afraid.

lboogy · 08/01/2019 21:20

If you've name changed why can't you say what the job is ?

Mumofaprinny · 08/01/2019 21:20

Farmer! They are never done working and it’s back breaking work but that didn’t make me any less angry when he used to come home late!🤭

Butchyrestingface · 08/01/2019 21:21

She DID say what the job was.

MarthasGinYard · 08/01/2019 21:21

Op did ....Confusedhe's a Marine

JaceLancs · 08/01/2019 21:23

Anything illegal
Anything smelly
Anything top secret
Have personal experience of the latter with an ex - meant I couldn’t plan anything or even knew where he was
It was legitimate not a cover for anything else but me knowing would have made me and DC possible kidnap targets
I found out years later and was shocked and stunned

PaintingOwls · 08/01/2019 21:24

So he doesn't live with you, he's emotionally distant and he cheats on you... and you fray your nerves worrying about him getting killed or mutilated in a war.

Why are you still married?

Mayhemmumma · 08/01/2019 21:26

I'd quite enjoy the peace of being married to a marine.

Only three I can think of that would be a definite no are
Traffic warden
Priest
UKIP mp

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 08/01/2019 21:31

In the (70s/80s) sitcom Frazier (sic)

Confused

Frasier was the 1990’s and maybe even ran into the early 2000’s!

Applesaregreenandred · 08/01/2019 21:31

@wotev how can you 'not like ' anyone who works in public service?? Firstly public service covers a huge range of jobs, and secondly, public service means somebody is working for the benefit of the public.

jarhead123 · 08/01/2019 21:34

Supermarket worker or waiter

MiceSqueakCatsMeow · 08/01/2019 21:34

I couldn't be with someone who killed animals in an abbatoir.
Or a conservative voter/politician.
Or a racist.
Or a clown.
Or a Farmer. I hate mud , poop and sending animals to the abbatoir.

Slaughterhouse worker or intensive animal farmer or any job involving animal testing.

Dirty jobs like bin-men, grave diggers and plumbers wouldn't bother me in the way those jobs would.

LanaLily11 · 08/01/2019 21:43

I have to agree on an Abbatoir worker. I once went out with a boy in my teens who was looking for work and was going to apply. No thank you
