pedrapapeletesoura.wordpress.com/2017/09/14/map-starting-guide/

A growing number of MAP (minor attracted people) accounts are forming a network on Twitter. There is a push to normalise and legitimise being sexually attracted to children. The “guide” I have linked is chilling, as are the accounts with MAP tags - they often have AOA in their bio...their “age of attraction”. So AOA 6mnths-4 years is a sexual attraction to children of that age.

Twitter is a huge business, with enormous power - they could, if they chose, take a stand against this.

Same, sickening that they're allowed on there or anywhere

I've been thinking about it and I think that having support available to paedophiles publicly available on the Internet, as unpalatable as it is, is inevitable. And beneficial I suppose. But when it starts to look like encouragement or normalising the host platform really has to step in. Just like with pro-ana sites for example. It's okay to talk about it, to offer support to people struggling with it, even to admit it's something you struggle with yourself, but not to paint it in a positive light or in a way that might be construed as normalising or promoting it.

DitaVonPeas

Why do you think Twitter hasn't stepped in?

DitaVonPeas · 07/01/2019 12:39

I'm afraid your rage is completely ineffective on me.

My rage has nothing whatever to do with you, I couldn't care less what you think of it.

I didn't read the rest of your post because it appears to be more of the same "accepting trans people helps paedophiles too" nonsense. "Shit, paedos! I'll do anything to stop them, including battening down the hatches against trans people. Sorry legitimate trans community but PAEDOS!" Can't be arsed with you.

Datun · 07/01/2019 12:40

How can you tell me that you didn't read my post and then tell me what it appears to say!
🤣

Penguincake · 07/01/2019 12:40

If you are on Twitter, please follow the @MCoaliton. Please tweet them any Paedophile users you come across. Then report the user. Try to keep a screenshot of your report and note of how long it takes Twitter to do anything about it. The MCoalition is a new Twitter group trying to fight Pedo accounts.

I am not sure about the point in engaging these people in debate, blocking and reporting is a better use of our time. There seem to be 100s of these accounts. Part of me hopes that a lot of them are 4chan pranksters but some accounts I have traced in the real world and one of them is a doctor in Canda who is quite open on his website about "demystifying" child abuse, so horrifyingly there are obviously many genuine ones.

Datun · 07/01/2019 12:40

Particularly as it says the opposite of what you're saying.

GlitterStick · 07/01/2019 12:41

I did and Dita has it pretty much bang on.

DitaVonPeas · 07/01/2019 12:45

I will definitely follow and Tweet them penguin, thank you. I definitely won't be engaging with these accounts and I do think there will be just a small number of people (relatively speaking) responsible for them.

Datun · 07/01/2019 12:45

accepting trans people helps paedophiles too"

Is the opposite of

It's about paedophiles using the trans ideology. Not the other way around.

It's pretty dangerous if you view an ideology as untouchable, unexploitable and something that can never be leveraged to serve a nefarious agenda.

Even when people give you a litany of men who are doing just that. Your blindness is part of the problem. If you can't see the difference between men with gender dysphoria, and predators leveraging men with gender dysphoria, then I can't help you.

There are moves afoot in Canada to lift the press restrictions on the Canadian individual I have alluded to. This person, to all intents and purposes, isn't trans, but they identify as a transwomen to gain access to children.

Until you can separate the ideology from the condition, this will be allowed to happen.

DitaVonPeas · 07/01/2019 12:50

Newsflash! Bad people exploit systems that are put in place to help the disadvantaged! Better call an end to unemployment benefits, disabled parking spaces, food banks, aid charities and trans women in ladies toilets.

DFOD.

Penguincake · 07/01/2019 12:59

It would be great if people can start writing to papers about this. The Times article was a good start but we need to keep the momentum going.

Unfortunately, pressure from the press seems to be the only thing that makes Twitter take action. I have reported several overt pedo accounts and Twitter has done nothing.

I know lots of Twitter users are writing to all of the UK papers and including screenshots of these accounts to make it easier for the journalists. Pressure from a paper like the DM (No matter what we think of it) could really help fore Twitter into stronger action and the more of us writing to them the better.

NettleTea · 07/01/2019 13:07

just an aside - if paedophilia gets classified as a sexual orientation, then it will be a protected characteristic under human rights legislation under the term SOGI which seems to be gradually seeping into global legislation to replace LGBT

SOGI stands for sexual orientation and gender identity

so if you think how wide the umbrella term of gender identity/transgender has stretched beyond what was a specific tiny group of people for whom the original laws and protections were created (transexuals with gender dysphoria) you can see how wide the umbrella term for 'sexual orientation' has the potential to stretch when replacing the very specific descriptions of sexuality (lesbian, bay and bisexual) for whom the laws were created.

The foundation stones have already been set for this - the mainstream imagery of extreme BSDM and the horror expressed by the pomo lobby if you 'kink shame' someones sexuality. Although being into kink is not a sexual orientation, its a preference. But blurring language......

NettleTea · 07/01/2019 13:11

and as Datun says upthread - a paedophile only needs to don the 'identity' of transgender at the moment to be given a free pass and nobody standing is brave enough to stand up for them because of their supposed identity and the backlash from the lobby

Datun · 07/01/2019 13:13

Oh good lord Dita it's not about a few 'bad people' merely exploiting a system. It's about a law that obliterates safeguarding, grooms the public into an acceptance they don't feel, and gives every paedophile and predator access.

There are far, far more predators taking advantage of a law that was designed to alleviate the symptoms of gender dysphoria, then there are men who have gender dysphoria.

In Canada, where they are ahead of us in terms of self ID:

I take notice of the fact that transgender and gender non‐conforming persons face high levels of stigma and are at an increased risk of violence, harassment, social isolation and discrimination. In these circumstances, I am satisfied that it is better to err on the side of caution in protecting a transgender person who asserts that the publication of their name in association with a complaint may expose them to harm. Doing so on an interim basis had minimal, if any, impact on the integrity of the Tribunal’s process.

This was written about a man who asks anyone who will listen how he can help 10-year-olds insert their tampons. They have decided to not publish his identification. Despite dozens of young girls identifying him online. Because he's claiming to be trans.

Which protects him more than someone who is not trans.

Why? Why does it?

DitaVonPeas · 07/01/2019 13:22

I have no idea what you're talking about Datun and frankly I don't care. I was sure from the start this thread was a beard for a little bit of trans bashing and oh, here we are. I'm grateful to penguin for actually posting something useful about paedos on Twitter, but you're just stirring the pot. Not. Interested.

Datun · 07/01/2019 13:27

I have no idea what you're talking about Datun and frankly I don't care.

I know you don't. And as ever, I'm not really talking to you.

And yes, reporting paedophiles on Twitter, is the only way to address the symptoms of this problem.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 07/01/2019 13:39

Non existent fox and glitter why are you still trying to stop us discussing paedophiles? Why do you not want them scrutinised?

Blimey. I'm finding fox perfectly comprehensible, but some of the twists and turns in this thread are hard to make sense of.

I don't see either of them trying to stop you from discussing paedophiles.

I'm not convinced of the relevance of trans issues to this thread in the first place, other than as the main frame of reference for a depressing number of mumsnet users in much the same intellectually lazy / obsessive way others view everything through the prism of Brexit or Thatcher or immigration or whatever.

Why do you think left leaning feminists, who traditionally champion every minority going, are suddenly the opposite with the trans ideology? Think about it.

This is absolutely not reflected among the (many) left leaning feminists I know, so I'm not content to extrapolate too much from the philosophies of this particular echo chamber.

SmileEachDay · 07/01/2019 16:35

I have now been suspended from Twitter for tweeting a picture allegedly sent by Yaniv to a forum of teen girls. The picture has a dildo in the background.

Yet the “MAP” accounts remain.

Tell me again that Twitter isn’t anti women.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/01/2019 16:46

So who monitors twitter - who regulates them? Who can you complain to?

Datun · 07/01/2019 17:09

The founder of Twitter is busy trying to delete all the online photographs of themself actually with the person in smiles post.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/01/2019 17:11

That why screenshots were invented!

Datun · 07/01/2019 17:19

Well yes. And online archives. The individual in question is busy now trying to sue kiwi farms. Who have 112 pages of his shenanigans. And who are mostly young men who are shit hot at tech.

SmileEachDay · 07/01/2019 17:21

It was a screenshot Lord
