Tumble dryer Help

Sorry this is in AIBU but took me forever to figure out how to start a new thread and when I did it was already in this category.
So my question is, our tumble dryer just broke so looking for a new one. At the minute because of the layout of our kitchen wen have to open the door and put the hose out the back door when the dryer is on ( there is nowhere to put it with a vent in the wall) so the house gets cold. Been looking at condenser dryers but been told on the past that these are rubbish and take so long to dry clothes, is this true?
Does anybody have one and would recommend one? It's so cold when we put the dryer on and would love to just have it on and keep the back door shut!
Also I've tried the condenser boxes you can buy for normal dryers but they didn't work.
Thankyou

I have a Beko condenser dryer and it doesn’t take long at all. I use it most days and our electric bill isn’t overly excessive either! I’d definitely reccomend them 😃

Butterflyhulk · 01/01/2019 18:50

Thankyou! I really want one but was put off by other people's comments on them, I do use the dryer most days and didn't want it to take twice the time costing twice as much.

We also have a beko condenser and it’s brilliant. Dries really quickly.

Highfever · 01/01/2019 18:51

I have a JL Own brand condenser. Had it eight years? It's fine. It's actually an AEG debranded.

It's washer /dryer with the condensers that are crap.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 01/01/2019 18:51

We have a Samsung condenser and it's ace and dries really fast.

Santaisfastasleepatlast · 01/01/2019 18:52

Another vote for Beko condenser!!

starabara · 01/01/2019 18:53

I have a Hoover condenser and it’s fab, dries fast as long as I clean the filters!

winterishereithink · 01/01/2019 18:53

I have a Bosch condenser and an AEG- both fine. I have piped in the AEG one so that it empties into the pipe the washing machine drains into and I now don't have to empty the drawerA works well too.

CatsForLife · 01/01/2019 18:53

Condensers are far superior. I think like PP said, it’s washer dryers that are rubbish. The dryer bit takes forever.

KM99 · 01/01/2019 18:54

Beko condenser too. Perfectly fine.

Jammysod · 01/01/2019 18:54

Another Beko owner & no complaints.

LEDadjacent · 01/01/2019 18:54

Another Beko condenser here. Think it was high in the Which reviews when I got it a couple of years ago. Dries things quickly.

Allthewaves · 01/01/2019 18:57

Always had a condensor for years. Our aeg just broke and have replaced with a bosch heat exchange one, it's got A++ eating and I'm really impressed. Loved my old one but this one dries so much quicker.

My parents have a gas one and they said it's so cheap to.run

squiglet111 · 01/01/2019 18:59

Have recently got a beko condenser. It's great. Use it most days and don't feel our bills are excessive. But didn't have a dryer before so used heating a lot to dry.

I was pleasantly surprised by the condenser part as it's easy to remove and drain.

I don't know why it took me so long to invest in one!

Ffsnosexallowed · 01/01/2019 19:00

Beko condenser here too, love it.

Celebelly · 01/01/2019 19:01

Another vote for Beko condenser. Ours is fab.

Shoppingwithmother · 01/01/2019 19:01

I have a Beko condenser as well - it’s great, quick, and was really cheap.

I got it to replace a Miele condenser which was really expensive and shit. It kept breaking and once out of warranty it literally cost less to buy the Beko than to get Miele to even look at the old one.

We always have condenser ones and they’re fine, don’t worry.

NewYear2018 · 01/01/2019 19:01

BEKO condenser here too. It's great and dries really quickly. It even does a jeans cycle and you don't have to iron them afterwards.

OP Perhaps you are you thinking of the combined washer dryer machines? They ARE rubbish and take forever.

PaquitaVariation · 01/01/2019 19:01

We’ve just bought a new one this week, hotpoint, it’s fab and quicker than the old one we had.

BrokenLink · 01/01/2019 19:05

I have had a Beko heat pump condensing dryer for past 4 years. Heat pump technology costs a bit more to buy but its more energy efficient. It's been no trouble whatsoever.

ShadowWeaver · 01/01/2019 19:05

When people are saying they are quick at crying, what times are you talking? I've only ever had condensers and it takes about 1.5 hours for a full load to dry. Is that usual?

Acorncat · 01/01/2019 19:05

My beko condenser is taking about 2.5 hours to dry a load so either mine is a bit rubbish or we have different definitions of quick Confused. It's sooooo noisy too.

Mumofaprinny · 01/01/2019 19:05

I had a Hoover condenser Dyer and it was the best! It warmed up my kitchen when on also and it was great!😁

ShadowWeaver · 01/01/2019 19:05

Drying and 1.5-2 hours

CatnissEverdene · 01/01/2019 19:08

Zanussi condenser here, never had a problem with it.

We had a vented one before, and the vent was so blocked it blew the filter into the dryer drum. The repair man couldn't believe we hadn't had a fire, it was so bad. I regularly emptied the fluff filter but the vent tube went under the cupboards and out through the wall.... it had completely blocked. I'd never have a vented one again, too bloody dangerous.
