They need to die.

Very naff

OP posts:
baubled · 26/12/2018 13:25

People who wish others dead because they use the word bits need to re-evaluate their lives immediately

starcrossedseahorse · 26/12/2018 13:25

I hate 'bits' too. (ducks)

MsChookandtheelvesofFahFah · 26/12/2018 13:26

By the Dave Clark Five. One of the first 45s I ever bought.

KurriKurri · 26/12/2018 13:26

That's big jigsaw Errol Grin

UrsulaPandress · 26/12/2018 13:27

I’m a great believer in bits, picky or otherwise.

But DH ‘going a message’ irks me rather.

Sparklingbrook · 26/12/2018 13:28

I think the OP has disappeared and gone out for some bits for their picky tea.

GrumpyOldMare · 26/12/2018 13:28

I could say the same about people who say ''naff''

KurriKurri · 26/12/2018 13:29

On a slight tangent - what is bric a brac ? A friend of mine's house is called Bric a Brac - but I see no evidence of it inside her house (whatever it is - i'm guessing it means pebbly/twiggy crap and ornaments ?)

lavalampoon · 26/12/2018 13:31

It irritates me! As does "picky bits"

Sparklingbrook · 26/12/2018 13:33

Bric a brac

'miscellaneous objects and ornaments of little value.'

They hold Bric a Brac sales around here. Fill your house with stuff basically. I think there's also material and ribbon/lace etc. Not my thing at all.

MaudAndOtherPoems · 26/12/2018 13:41

It's one of several expressions I only see on MN that irritates me - things "not sitting right" with someone is another - but it doesn't make me murderous.

isseywithcats · 26/12/2018 13:42

if ive done a full food shop i say ive been shopping if ive only got a few little items i say ive got a few bits from the shops shoot me now op lol

winecigsandchoc · 26/12/2018 13:42

YANBU!!!! It's a petty hate of mine!

FestiveNut · 26/12/2018 13:46

I get the feeling this was meant to be lighthearted but failed due to the homicidal undertones... Or at least, I hope so. What happened to peace and goodwill?

YABU, OP.

Says it all really.

Ivegotthree · 26/12/2018 13:55

They do need to die.

As do those who describe eating eg pork pies, cheese, olives as 'picky bits'.

ALL OF THEM NEED TO DIE

brizzledrizzle · 26/12/2018 13:55

They used to disembowel people didn't they

Indeed they did, in fact they reduced them to a few bits.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 26/12/2018 13:58

Yet another one advocating for mass murder of a large proprotion of the UK population to be killed, and in caps no less.

How do you want them to die, IveGoytThree?

Suggestions so far are:
Explosion
Disemboweling

Options you might like to consider
Acid
Hanging
Drowning
Machine gun
Burying alive?

There are lots.

My kids are 9 and 11. How do you want them to die?

DameDoom · 26/12/2018 13:59

To me, a few bits means stuff like cotton wool, tampons and mouthwash - not exciting to list individually and have a tendency to clutter up your bag … so bits.
I can't get het up about picky bits either - I really can't.

AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 26/12/2018 13:59

I like 'messages'. It's descriptive. It's basically 'errands', which also used to cover shopping (cf. Milly-Molly-Mandy).

Bric a brac is basically what you get at flea markets.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 26/12/2018 13:59

Remember that there are a lot of people that you want killed, and it is not an easy job. Millions. What are you planning on doing with the bodies? Leaving them littered everywhere is a major health hazard and could result in further deaths amongst those who do not say "bits" and I'm sure you want to avoid that.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 26/12/2018 14:00

Messages is a regional thing isn't it?
I have a friend who says it but I can't remember which one and so therefore where it's from!

brizzledrizzle · 26/12/2018 14:01

How do you want them to die, IveGoytThree?

You forgot death by creation of an intergalactic super highway, or maybe an extended poetry reading.

AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 26/12/2018 14:01

NothingOnTellyAgain, you are the one repeatedly listing various gory methods of execution. Why, if you find the OP so distasteful (and I don't find it in the best of taste either, tbf), are you engaging and trying to outdo her in distastefulness?

AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 26/12/2018 14:01

'Messages' is Irish AIUI.
