DD added the finishing decorations to the cake this year after we remembered we hadn't iced it yesterday. First year we've tried making a cake this year. Hopefully they'll taste good Greensleeves!

I don't like Christmas cake so I always make a special non-Christmas cake. I've been making this years effort since 8.30 this morning and still need to ice it. I had a bit too much batter for the tin so I made a smaller one as a tester. Ds tried a bit and has said it is yucky and he doesn't want to eat it tomorrow. I'm now panicking that everyones going to hate it. I didn't even want to make the bastard thing! I got emotionally blackmailed into it. It's taken me hours and I've spent ££'s on all the millions of ingredients. I wish I'd just bought a nice dessert from Waitrose for half the price now!

Your cake looks fabulous OP. Well done. I can definitely say that even in years where I’ve had time to bake one they never looked anywhere near as good as that one...the others look smashing too.
