Lock the door. Home invasions are a nasty business.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 22/12/2018 00:08

Is this normal? Is he usually out for 12 hours?

Picnictime · 22/12/2018 00:08

Leave a key out and a message where to find it. Although he may wake you up banging on the door regardless if he's blotto

QueenCity · 22/12/2018 00:09

No don't leave the door unlocked! Why did he not take his key?

FestiveNut · 22/12/2018 00:09

If you're being lovely tell him to ring when he gets back and keep your phone next to your bed so you'll hear it. Was he meant to go out after lunch?

brownbeauty · 22/12/2018 00:09

Have u spoken to him at all since he has been gone..?

Please don't leave ur door unlocked..

Leave a key in a safe place he will look or y can prompt him to look

Wait or ask for his explain the morning..
Thanks

hammeringinmyhead · 22/12/2018 00:10

I was also going to suggest taping a key somewhere and telling him where. He won't find it though if he's been drinking for 12 hrs but you can say you did your bit.

FestiveNut · 22/12/2018 00:11

If he was supposed to be coming straight home, the following may be useful:

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 22/12/2018 00:15

So tired, Im going to text him where I’ve left the key and go to bed.

Never done this before

Thank you, I’ve tried to call him again but just answer phone, been out since 2 pm... heck!

Goodness me, he's going to have a bad head in the morning! You did the right thing OP, sleep well.

SavageBeauty73 · 22/12/2018 07:45

Did he turn up?

GimbleInTheWabe · 22/12/2018 08:58

Yes any sign of him OP?

KnobJockey · 22/12/2018 09:03

It was only midnight! Yes he should have been in touch, I agree there, but 2pm start, wouldn't eat til 3, if it was more than one course it could have easily been 5pm by the time they're finished eating. Then head over to a couple of bars for a few drinks and a bit of a dance, it's easily 11pm before you look at your phone.

Wow DH would definitely let me know if he went out for lunch and wasn't going to be back for dinner (I'd have no problem with it but it's just polite to let you know).

Holidayshopping · 22/12/2018 09:29

Did he turn up?!

Does he normally go out without a key-that’s not a good idea!

ColdCrumpetsandButter · 22/12/2018 09:30

I hope he has made it home. Not fair to not let you know where he is or what time he will be home. Selfish. Your mind will be racing to all sorts of horrible conclusions and a simple call or text would prevent that.

I hope he is safe.

ipswichwitch · 22/12/2018 09:36

This is the second thread I’ve read this morning where a bloke has gone off out without his keys until the small hours, and seemingly expects someone to be up to let them in.

Who are these men who can apparently be responsible for hanging on to a wallet and phone but not cope with taking keys as well? If DH kept going for nights out without keys he’d be told to sleep in the damn garage.

Branleuse · 22/12/2018 09:37

Did he come back

Strugglingonagain · 22/12/2018 09:37

Did he come back OP?

thefinn · 22/12/2018 09:42

Hope he's back now?

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 22/12/2018 09:44

What happened? Never ever leave a door unlocked. Or a key in an obvious place.

Horsewithnomane · 22/12/2018 09:49

Why does he not have a key? Is he a cat?

One could be forgiven for seeing it as a control tactic... It is something controlling men do, so whilst there is the possibility it can also happen for an entirely innocent reason as a pure one off if it's part of a wider pattern it is likely to be control.
