To ask which of these pictures to give to my mum?

I like landscape photography.

My mum said back in the summer that for her Christmas present from me she would like one of my photos framed (bless)

I've narrowed it down to 3 but not sure which to choose.

Can I borrow some mumsnet wisdom to help me decide?

By the way this is not a fishing for compliments exercise, I am no David Bailey (he's a photographer...right?)

Another vote for no. 1

easyandy101 · 17/12/2018 14:45

Burbage edge picture is mint

MrsExpo · 17/12/2018 14:59

No 3 for me, but I’m a photography geek myself and love a nice contrasty mono. If not, then the first one. Not number 2.

WarCat · 17/12/2018 15:03

2nd one. Gorgeous

Notrusthere · 17/12/2018 16:19

Thanks for the input everyone, really appreciate it.

I agree with the composition issues of 2, it was a very early attempt and there's just something not right about it

So would people buy these kind of photos?

Definitely the last one!!

SleepingStandingUp · 17/12/2018 17:00

Only the last one.
I think two is just fairly standard and I could do it. One is good, if I had a good camera I could probably do it. 3 looks like it took actual something I can't do lol

Cassia90 · 17/12/2018 17:04

3rd very relaxing

LuggsaysNotaWomen · 17/12/2018 17:05

1 or 3 for me. Again, it would depend on where it was going as to which one I’d ultimately pick.

Lovemusic33 · 17/12/2018 17:07

Notrust have you got a fb page for your photos? I have and have had offers for my prints, I don’t really do it to sell them but I have thought about it, there seems to be a lot of amazing photographers in my area and I feel mine are not up to scratch, I do landscape and wildlife. I have done a few photos for peoples websites but not for a profit (more for expereanced).

flissfloss65 · 17/12/2018 17:09

I’d choose 2. Lovely and fresh and full of light. Would look great with photo imposed out on chunk of wood.

Sunset is lovely but looks too much like a fire. Third one looks like a generic print. Nice but seen lots similar.

JosephineHass · 17/12/2018 17:19

I like number 2, very fresh and springy/summery.🌞🦋Very uplifting.
And I also like number 1, calming and soothing...

Accountant222 · 17/12/2018 17:23

They're all fabulous but I'd choose no 1

MinorRSole · 17/12/2018 17:24

So would people buy these kind of photos?*

I would buy number 3 if I saw it for sale. It's much more unusual than the other 2, bold & dramatic. I know exactly where I would put it too! Love it

bluebird3 · 17/12/2018 17:28

I like the middle one

kenandbarbie · 17/12/2018 17:29

Depends on her house. If it's modern - 3, if it's traditional - 1or 2.

olivesarelife · 17/12/2018 17:35

1

PeroniZuchini · 17/12/2018 17:43

The first one gets my vote; the colour, depth and composition is excellent.
I like the third one next, however the subject is a little ‘in my face’ so doesn’t relax me somehow. There needs more clearance somehow around the subject.
The second is lovely, the colours are beautiful, and it is crisp and clean however it lacks a focal point and as others have said, the composition is questionable.

I’m a designer by the way so I work with images everyday! Your photos are great.

AnneOfCleavage · 17/12/2018 17:43

If she has grey walls I'd go with number 3. I love number three the best out of all 3 followed by number 1. Number 2 is pretty but the sharpness isn't there which would annoy me looking at it daily but I love the setting.

You have a great eye and are naturally talented imho.

They are all so different so if you wanted you could make them smaller and put in a 3 aperture frame especially as she has said she loves all 3.

Loubymoo27 · 17/12/2018 17:47

The middle one. It's lovely!!! X

bellabasset · 17/12/2018 20:38

No 1 definitely although I like No 3.

Balaboosteh · 17/12/2018 21:14

Definitely the first one. It’s got amazing colours and would look great against a grey wall. Pick me!

Jamiefraserskilt · 17/12/2018 21:32

One for the impact and colour. Three for that calm, monochrome look

BumbleyBum · 17/12/2018 21:34

3rd if decor is grey

TheWiseWomansFear · 17/12/2018 23:30

The first, it's colours are powerful though so if her decor is more placid I'd choose the second
