To wonder who anyone can look themselves in the mirror, if they still support the EU, after Juncker's appalling behaviour recently?

Whatever you think of Theresa May, she was handed a poison chalice after that clown David Cameron jumped ship when the LEAVE vote won the EU referendum, and she is trying to please everyone (failing a bit obviously!) But much of the shitstorm of Brexit is not her fault!

Nevertheless, the president of the EU -Jean Claude Juncker - sees fit not only to slag her off behind her back, calling her 'nebulous,' but he also claimed she tried to kiss him afterwards.

As if that wasn't enough, he was seen ruffling an EU official's hair in a condescending 'aren't you a cutie'manner! A woman obviously. He would never have done it to a man!

What a misogynistic, repugnant creep he is. And just pretty much represents the EU. Controlling, manipulative, misogynistic, rude, insulting, and dismissive.

Anyone who still supports the EU now, should hang their head in shame. To support an organisation with someone like that at the helm needs to sort themselves and their priorities out, and wake up to what the EU really is. A misogynistic, obnoxious, controlling, rich boys club, who are sore and wounded that the UK are taking their £350 million a week away from them, not singing to their tune, and not taking things lying down.

Dreadful man. Dreadful organisation.

The sooner we are out of the European Union, the better! No deal will suit me just fine. And I know plenty more who think the same.

Michel Barnier, you all forget about him. He was diplomacy personified.

Junker is just showing us how ridiculous our negotiating skills are, well they are non existent actually.

UK is in a post colonial crisis, and cannot get that any other alliance might be good. HUBRIS

It is really a disaster. Because the UK is not used to negotiating anything, they are the top dogs and what is this? Negotiating...... never.

I can't stand the old lush Juniker, but as PPs have said, he's not the EU.

wondering1101 · 15/12/2018 17:34

Ha ha. I support the EU, will vote remain if there is a People’s Vote, and will not be hanging my head in shame.

pointythings · 15/12/2018 17:36

As if bmw and mercedes can survive without the uk market

Well, I think that huge trade deal which the EU have struck with Japan, which in fact includes increased EU access to Japan's automotive market, might plug that gap quite nicely. But carry on dreaming...

Bluelady · 15/12/2018 17:37

She accepted the poison chalice when it was obvious the EU would punish us for the leave vote. She's dishonest and incompetent. Zero sympathy. And happy to look myself in the eye in the mirror, thank you.

TheOxymoron · 15/12/2018 17:37

No deal will not be a disaster.
The EU want to make examples of us to stop others from leaving but the EU need us.
It is all ridiculous.

I agree with the OP that whatever people’s thoughts are about Theresa May, they are overlooking the failings of the behaviour of Juncker and the EU.

Aragog · 15/12/2018 17:41

1 individual person does not equal the whole EU.

Talkinpeece · 15/12/2018 17:44

I am proud to support the EU in standing firm against the ridiculous and nebulous demands of the UK government.

Talkinpeece · 15/12/2018 17:45

No deal will not be a disaster.
Please explain how you come to that conclusion ?

nicoala1 · 15/12/2018 17:48

OK @ Oxymoron,

Prove it about us leaving. Thanks.

The EU will survive without us quite well IMO. But the Withdrawal Agreement would sort that out for UK.

But no, it is not enough for the arrogance of some. Anyway.....

Monkeynuts18 · 15/12/2018 17:51

He’s the President of the European Commission. He’s not the EU. Or President of the EU.

By the way, to make a similar argument, I don’t like Theresa May and I think the Conservative Party are creeps. How anyone can support the continued existence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland with them at the helm is beyond me.

Does that sound stupid? Probably, because it is.

nicoala1 · 15/12/2018 17:57

Doesn't matter anymore now.

UK negotiators are in a colonial mindset. But dealing with EU is different. Must be such a shock to realise that the UK is not top dog anymore. Anywhere really. UK is fkd.

PortiaCastis · 15/12/2018 18:03

Sorry if I'm missing something but one man is not the whole of the EU and if we leave without a deal we'll be up shitstreet without a paddle, trade deals take years to complete obviously and if my insulin gets held up in a massive great queue of lorries at Dover my time will be limited.
Effects on the population should've been taken into account before Cameron called a referendum because I'm feeling rather scared and no don't tell me the reports of experts are scaremongering because they're not

nicoala1 · 15/12/2018 18:12

The hubris of the Tory Party is delusional. But on they go.

Sometimes such arrogance need a kick in the nerds.

Ooh, I dunno, as a Scottish Yes voter it makes sense to me... Grin

Susie Boniface, columnist on the Mirror, said the whole thing was a stunt. Politicians know where the cameras are. May confronted Juncker to get her picture in the Mail and Express. 'Look at me. I'm well hard, me.

'Nebulous'? Such a silly word to make a fuss about. Makes her look ridiculous, especially since she's called EU nationals 'queue jumpers' and 'citizens of nowhere'.He wasn't talking about her personally anyway. And it's fair comment as a description of UK policy. Her staff must be getting really desperate now to resort to such idiotic tactics to shore up her position.

Justanotherlurker · 15/12/2018 20:17

Susie Boniface, columnist on the Mirror, said the whole thing was a stunt.

Taking a red top rag as an authority just because they support your side is just as bad as those who read the express.

Considering you're an apparent advocate of nuance in language, it looks like you have fallen into a starting point and worked up from there.

And we wonder why politics has turned into a shit show

Katerinablum66 · 15/12/2018 20:29

Op look up David Cameron's shenanigans with regard to blairmore (a company with close links to his father and from which he benefited ) in 2016 - no tax paid for nearly 30 years according to the guardian because it was based in Panama so maybe look a little closer to home The UK is certainly not squeaky clean !

Justanotherlurker · 15/12/2018 20:42

The UK is certainly not squeaky clean !

No country is, thats where the mental gymnastics start, Cameron was neoliberal to the core and very pro EU

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 15/12/2018 21:00

Not a massive supporter of the EU

But this op is a complete load of shite

Ridiculous

Thymeout · 15/12/2018 21:01

Justanother

She is my source - on Sky's Press Preview. I'm perfectly capable of making up my own mind about what she said. No need to be snobbish about redtops or political affiliations. Tomorrow, I'm looking forward to reading the Sunday Times' take on events. I don't agree with its views but they have a good team of journalists, especially Tim Shipman, who. can be relied upon to come up with background material that other papers miss.

Don't you agree with her assessment? It seems much more likely than that May should act so totally out of character and confront a VIP like Juncker in front of the world's press over something so trivial.

Katerinablum66 · 15/12/2018 21:01

The irony is that the hard brexiteers are also neoliberal free trade obsessives
who have close links to all manner of shady right wing often American think tanks !

MetalMidget · 15/12/2018 21:12

By the same token, it should be impossible for anyone to support Leave because Boris is a massive racist (not to mention exceptionally self-serving), Jacob Rees-Mogg is a misogynist who would happily force pregnancy and childbirth on women, including rape and incest victims, Michael Gove is a backstabbing little shit, and Nigel Farage is... God, where would you even start?

Theresa May created the hostile environment that led to British Citizens being wrongly deported, and despite voting Remain, is now pursuing Brexit like a shit Terminator, despite a wealth of evidence that the narrow majority in favour of Leave has now flipped. Nebulous is being polite - she just repeats cringeworthy soundbites like a children's toy running out of battery. Brexit means Brexit! Only... that doesn't mean anything, no matter how many times you repeat it. She's an embarrassment - and before getting onto domestic politics such as austerity.

nicoala1 · 15/12/2018 21:22

This is just such a shit show now . And for what could someone tell me please?

To me it is protection of the Tory party above anything else.

So whether you are go or remain, always remember that. Tories look after themselves first in their hubristic nonsense. But here we are now.
