To leave a baby?

Theres a coop 2 min walk away from my house. Would you leave the baby at home and lock the door etc instead of taking buggy/carrier etc? Shop is literally 5 doors away.

Ps: I didnt do this as I was too chicken but wondered if anyone had?

I would take the baby

MuncheysMummy · 13/12/2018 21:22

Absolutely definitely not never under any circumstances do NOT do it

masktaster · 13/12/2018 21:22

A lot can happen in 2 minutes, or you could be delayed getting back. I wouldn't.

DinoDave · 13/12/2018 21:23

Hmm.

5 doors is NOT 2 minutes away.

5 doors away - yes I would. A two minute walk - no I wouldn’t.

SoyDora · 13/12/2018 21:24

No

StepAwayFromGoogle · 13/12/2018 21:24

Nope, wouldn't do it.

TulipsInbloom1 · 13/12/2018 21:24

I would never leave the baby. I would judge anyone who did. Its pointless.

MaryShelley1818 · 13/12/2018 21:24

Absolutely not - never.

seven201 · 13/12/2018 21:25

No fucking way.

Oysterbabe · 13/12/2018 21:25

No way.

whowantstea · 13/12/2018 21:25

No definitely not.
A lot can happen in a short space of time. You could get hit by a bus or the house could catch fire.

agnurse · 13/12/2018 21:26

Babies should NEVER be left alone. As PPs have said, you never know what could happen. What if you slip and fall on the ice? What if you're run over by a car? What if you have a sudden medical event? If you're unable to answer questions, no one will know that there is a baby left alone at home.

Thehop · 13/12/2018 21:26

Oh god dont.

NonaGrey · 13/12/2018 21:26

Never, I’d always take the baby.

SomeBigBaubles · 13/12/2018 21:26

Personally I wouldn't because of the 'what if'.

Santasushi · 13/12/2018 21:26

Is it worth it?

mrsseashell · 13/12/2018 21:27

Imagine returning home and the baby was gone
That would surely stop you ever thinking about doing it

Pachyderm1 · 13/12/2018 21:27

No - surely it can’t be worth it?

ironinglady57 · 13/12/2018 21:28

Please don't 😔😔😔

DSHathawaysLover · 13/12/2018 21:29

Absolutely not, ever. Why would you not just use the buggy/carrier?

Trills · 13/12/2018 21:29

A baby?

Is it like MY baby or just any old baby?

Do I like this baby?

1mum1kid · 13/12/2018 21:29

No it’s not just two minutes. Walk to shop, pick up items, wait in queue, pay, then walk back. Never.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 13/12/2018 21:29

Only if there was an adult/sensible older child there.

Floatyboat · 13/12/2018 21:29

I wouldnt personally. Thinking about it logically though I guess there is an argument to be made the other way though.

Eg you leave a baby in a different room for a time when you are on the toilet, people sometimes die on the toilet, who would save the baby etc

JiltedJohnsJulie · 13/12/2018 21:30

It depends. I’ve never done it but I’ve got friends who have. If baby us sound asleep and safe, you are the only adult and you really need something, then I can understand why you would.

It’s a going to the coop if you’re desperate is a bit different than passing off to Ibiza for a week Smile
