and that the people bastards who have signed the no confidence letter have only their own interests at heart. The country at large is irrelevant to them.

Just coming on to say I agree that J R-M or BoJo would be horrifying.

Littletabbyocelot · 12/12/2018 08:25

YANBU. At all.

Crimson72 · 12/12/2018 08:27

YANBU. If that happens then it will be hard Brexit or no deal at all, from what I can see.

ShovingLeopard · 12/12/2018 08:27

YANBU. It's terrifying.

GCAcademic · 12/12/2018 08:29

Fortunately the Tories have a slightly more sensible process to elect their PM than Labour do, which will certainly prevent JRM from getting through, and probably BJ as well.

DriveAnIceCreamVan · 12/12/2018 08:31

I don't vote Tory. I prefer May over Johnson or JRM, let her finish the job, people don't want no deal.

winobaglady · 12/12/2018 08:32

You have succinctly hit the nail on the head.
They couldn't give a road about the people.

WendyWoofer · 12/12/2018 08:32

The names being discussed on TV right now, for those likely to put themselves up for leadership are Sajid, BJ, David Davies and Jeremy Hunt. All brexiteers.

The posters who have persistently slated TM are about to get their comeuppance.

TM to make a statement at 8.30am this morning.
The shitstorm is about to turn to diarrhoea

I agree. As much as I don't like them, they are ruthless and quick when it comes to stuff like this.

Sajid wasn't

SillySallySingsSongs · 12/12/2018 08:34

Nor was Jeremy Hunt.

WendyWoofer · 12/12/2018 08:34

TM statement is imminent on ITV

Crimson72 · 12/12/2018 08:34

I haven’t felt more disheartened about the whole Brexit process than I do now - and that includes the moment I heard we’d voted to leave. It’s an absolute catastrophe.

OnionsAreNotTheOnlyVeg · 12/12/2018 08:36

@GCAcademic - what is their process and why does it eliminate JRM (which I am very relieved to hear btw!)?

MaMaMaMySharona · 12/12/2018 08:38

Apparently the vote tonight clashes with the Tories Christmas Party - let's hope they're not too juiced up when they put their votes in.

Metalhead · 12/12/2018 08:39

This country is so totally fucked right now...

GCAcademic · 12/12/2018 08:39

Onions - two candidates have to be put forward to the party membership by MPs (unless only one candidate emerges, as happened with May when Leadsom dropped out). There are simply not enough MPs who would back JRM in an leadership race.

WendyWoofer · 12/12/2018 08:40

ThanosSavedMe · 12/12/2018 08:40

God help us

PeridotCricket · 12/12/2018 08:40

I want her to come out and say that Brexit is impossible without harming the country. Call out the lying bastards, resign, drop her microphone, and sashay away.

loveka · 12/12/2018 08:41

I cannot believe there is anyone who doesn't see Boris Johnson for what he is- a self serving, power hungry narcissist. Why is he still taken seriously?

I am as leftie as leftie can be, but I have seen Theresa May in a new light. I actually think she is a principled person ( some warped, but at least she has them.

Boris would sell us all down the river just to get power.

Rees-Mogg is just an odious twerp, but a dangerous one.

Where is Corbyn? Fucking idiot, doing NOTHING.

God help us all.

raspberryTrousers · 12/12/2018 08:42

Why OP?

At least the two of them believe we should leave the EU. We have a PM fighting for a Brexit she campaigned against and a 'leader' of the 'opposition' pretending to fight against her when he's so anti-EU.

I like JRM. He's open about his beliefs and people can vote for him or not based on whether their beliefs align with his. For example, here.

BJ has lost my respect in recent years.

Neither of them will likely be PM though. Tories vote for Chancellors, Foreign Secretaries and Home Secretaries as their leaders not morons who go to Glastonbury and sit on the floor of trains.

The best we can hoope for is a second referendum and rescinding A50.

OnionsAreNotTheOnlyVeg · 12/12/2018 08:42

Indeed Peridot!

Are any of the candidates decent?

I can’t take David Davis seriously having listened to Dead Ringers. I realise this may not be sound political thinking.

WendyWoofer · 12/12/2018 08:44

There you go..

To think that if Rees-Mogg or Boris become Tory Party leader we are even more done for than currently
OnionsAreNotTheOnlyVeg · 12/12/2018 08:45

I always think of this when people say ‘at least he’s open about his beliefs’ etc...
