Definitely all asthma, no exacerbation of anxiety? How bad is it - ambulance? 111?

HoneyBumpkin · 11/12/2018 23:16

If it's not getting better, go to A&E. Seriously

OakElmAsh · 11/12/2018 23:16

How many puffs of ventolin? In an emergency you can take 10+, just to hold you until you get medical attention

If your usual dose isn't working though, get medical attention ASAP, DON'T WAIT

kentgal · 11/12/2018 23:16

If your ventolin is not lasting as long as it should in controlling your symptoms you should seek medical attention

Ninoo25 · 11/12/2018 23:17

You need to go to A&E

Ohyesiam · 11/12/2018 23:17

If you’ve not responded to your normal meds you need to get to hospital.
Don’t mess with asthma. Cam someone drive you there?

Heyjudas · 11/12/2018 23:17

dont know. Anxiety high with difficulty breathing.

cheesywotnots · 11/12/2018 23:17

If your inhalers don't help maybe you should ring 111 or 999 for professional medical help.

Piehunter · 11/12/2018 23:17

Ventolin, one puff every 30-60 seconds up to 10 puffs overall. If no improvement call 999, after 15 minutes the up to 10 puffs 30-60 seconds apart can be repeated.

starryeyed19 · 11/12/2018 23:17

Also echoing other posters. Get to A&E

BarbarianMum · 11/12/2018 23:17

Is it easing? Have you taken your maximum numbers of puffs?

Do you have an asthma plan to follow?

If youre worsteni g, or if its not eazing, call 999. The paramedics will come and nebulise you - and take you to a&e if that doesnt work.

Dont leave it too long to call help if needed. Flowers

WutheringFrights · 11/12/2018 23:18

Drink a strong cup of black coffee - it helps trust me, call 111, breathe in through your nose out through your mouth slowly.

cheesywotnots · 11/12/2018 23:18

Call for medical help

Heyjudas · 11/12/2018 23:18

no i'm on my own. seems to be settling. I'm breathing a bit.

OP posts:
Piehunter · 11/12/2018 23:18

It's not a get someone to drive you, if you can't breathe paramedics can set up nebs at home/en route, this is what ambulances ARE for

BarbarianMum · 11/12/2018 23:19

No dont get someone to drive you - call 999 and at least see how long it will take for them to reach you.

haydn345 · 11/12/2018 23:19

A&E if not responding. 999 as emergency.

WutheringFrights · 11/12/2018 23:19

Do you know why you are having the attack? Allergies, exercise, anxiety?

Heyjudas · 11/12/2018 23:20

Seems to be passing. Fuck.

OP posts:
Heyjudas · 11/12/2018 23:20

Possibly anxiety, don't have a cold, or chest infection.

OP posts:
Heyjudas · 11/12/2018 23:21

I'm in a cold sweat now. What the f was that. Fuck.

OP posts:
justilou1 · 11/12/2018 23:24

Maybe take an antihistamine just in case and write down everything you have eaten just in case it's a food allergy. Terrifying, isn't it? If this happens again, maybe you need to see the doctor. You know you can repeat the ventolin as well, and it WILL make you feel jumpy and anxious. It is both a logical response to the asthma attack and a response to the high ventolin dosage.

Heyjudas · 11/12/2018 23:24

I'm fine now, it has stopped. Shit. That fucking scared the crap out of me. Wow, I am soaked through with sweat. Was that a fucking panic attack or an asthma attack? I was taking my ventolin every minute or so.

OP posts:
WutheringFrights · 11/12/2018 23:25

Try to calm down (the single most irritating thing someone can say when you can’t breathe - Sorry!)
You sound like your coming through it? It’s so bloody scary isn’t it and panicking just exacerbates it.
Go grab a black coffee honestly if you can move without it making you feel worse. The caffeine helps open the airwaves and will help you feel more human.
Keep breathing slowly - you will be fine x

haydn345 · 11/12/2018 23:26

I am asthmatic. I thoight I was having attack on own and freaked out. I had ventolin and a sip of alcohol. The alcohol calmed me and I realised it was a panic instance. If you can breathe, good, but if def wheezing, seek help.
