BF what kind of interesting places have you breast fed? I breast fed end of Clacton Pier & on a long distance flight to Asia -the air hostess gave my husband a big paper to give me privacy (many moons ago!)

In my own home, but surrounded by joiners, electricians, etc as we took the really sensible decision to have our kitchen replaced. It did make sense as DH is a tradesman so was doing a lot of the work himself so he was at home. But I learnt the art of discreet breastfeeding very quickly!

Motorway service station, layby on the A50, restaurants, nursery, park but the weirdest has to be sat down in the middle of the road outside the Liver Buildings during the Giants amid a crowd of thousands. Two lovely older ladies created a sort of invisible cordon around me warning people not to disturb me as I was feeding the baby.

Saracen · 08/12/2018 23:11

In a helicopter. It was awkward to do without removing the baby's ear defenders!

Outside a pub, walking around the South Bank, on a tube train spring to mind. Also in a board meeting of a company that I'd only just joined. Put DD under a blanket and nobody said a word even when she kept burping. That's the thing about breast feeding, even when I felt a little uncomfortable nobody seemed to notice. I BF for years with DC and can honestly say that nobody ever reacted negatively in any way. I wonder whether London is better for that, can't comment as I haven't tried much anywhere else. I did give up when I tried to use my electric pump while the house had several builders in it as I suddenly realised it was so loud that I worried they might think it was a vibrator Blush. But BF no problem at all

On lots of holidays so beaches, ruined castles, planes, trains, ferries. I was proudest of feeding in the carrier whilst playing a game of crazy golf. I came second!

The little underground train at the Postal Museum was probably my best effort, especially as I was sharing a cab with two teenage boys so was keen to be discreet.

Oh gosh everywhere and anywhere DS is very demanding!

But one that stands out was at a county cricket match next to the ice cream van. The lovely man running the ice cream van said I was welcome to sit in the van if I'd like but I declined, regretting it now though!

To the @OP thanks for asking, this is a lovely positive thread :-)

In a meeting with bank manager
In parks leaning against a tree
At bus stops
Cinema
Only toilet was in a City M&S as I couldn't find any bench or chair anywhere.

Most impressive was toilet at home while vomiting and having diarrhoea - I had to leave ds latched on to avoid it all!

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 09/12/2018 01:14

Lots of car show rooms as we did a lot of car shopping when DD was little. I mainly sat in the back of the car with her.

I've fed anywhere and everywhere and never faced criticism, although if I ever do I'll put them right in their place.

When my DS was weeks old and could still be held in one arm I went bowling and managed two turns whilst he was latched on!

I've been on that train. Very little elbow room, that's impressive!

Yesterday, I breastfed at the Zoo. Not in a cafe or sheltered area but on a bench in a very humid room in front of some giraffes, behind me was a tortoise enclosure.Xmas Confused
