BF what kind of interesting places have you breast fed? I breast fed end of Clacton Pier & on a long distance flight to Asia -the air hostess gave my husband a big paper to give me privacy (many moons ago!)

On the side of a cliff, in the middle of a field of sheep, walking around the zoo, on the beach, in a swimming pool, on a train, on a plane, on a bus.

Anywhere I've been I've breastfed if needed.

Top table at my sisters wedding. NYC on the subway, at the top of the twin towers, in most of the landmark NYC places in fact.
At a funeral, in the back of a moving car whilst baby was in car seat, in a swimming pool.

applesisapple5 · 08/12/2018 17:54

First time out, in a historic harbour.
A very busy bus was the most precarious, I realised I didn't have the muslin, it was the other end of the bus, a lovely lady next to me gave me some tissues.

In the denitists chair during a filling

CherryPavlova · 08/12/2018 17:55

Wherever they needed feeding. Church, parents evenings, atop mountains, Tesco’s, trains, planes, beach, parks, art galleries, wherever.

elf1985 · 08/12/2018 17:56

In a cathedral. Whilst talking to the bish

HollyBollyBooBoo · 08/12/2018 17:56

In First Class on a BA flight to Toronto. Think the check in lady took pity on me flying alone with a 2 week old and upgraded me! It was fab!

WeaselsRising · 08/12/2018 17:57

On a hovercraft, at the cinema, on a bench outside Anne Franks house, at Olympia, on a motorway leaning over the car seat. Many years and many different places.

Unsureif · 08/12/2018 17:58

Watching seals on a beach
Watching Polar Bears frolic
Many times on planes
Basically anywhere and everywhere

To the person mentioning bottle feeding... that's all good and well but it isn't comparable to potentially exposing a bit of breast.... let's not turn this into a debate please! This thread is about breast feeding after all.

WeaselsRising · 08/12/2018 17:59

Never in a dentists chair having a filling though. fourcorneredcircle wins Grin

In a female prayer room in the Middle East as I was a nervous first time mum, who didn’t want to expose myself out in the supermarket, very helpful native showed me the room, told me I could get comfy and turned on the A/C for me..

Second time round, I’m an old pro and have done it everywhere - no hiding in nursing rooms which smell of horrific nappies to me!

Demelzasdilemma · 08/12/2018 18:08

The national gallery, walking around felt like a massive achievement!

Heismyopendoor · 08/12/2018 18:13

Not super exciting here, I have BF at the beach here (think it was Ayr beach) and whilst DS was in a wrap walking around Costco.
Otherwise most places most people will have fed in, soft play, benches, cafes, restaurants (including the Costco food court lol), house, car, garden, etc

Demelzasdilemma · 08/12/2018 18:13

Oh and the top of Mount Teide in Tenerife

Heismyopendoor · 08/12/2018 18:14

I’ve also BF on a warm beach when we visited Spain, plus the plane, poolside etc. That beach was much warmer than Ayr 😂

Canibuildasnowman · 08/12/2018 18:16

Portaloo at the London Olympics.
Long story.

Minniemountain · 08/12/2018 18:16

Most picturesque was outside a wooden church in Norway, surrounded by mountains.

Sitting on a chair in the middle of Boots the Chemist. It was over 35 years ago and in the days when lots of shops like Boots still had chairs dotted about for customers to sit on. Regents Park, on an plane during a long haul flight. Lots of different holiday destinations.

Only ever had a negative reaction on two occasions. One was two old ladies in Boots who when they saw me, one announced in a very loud voice 'she's feeding a baby' and they turned and walk the other way. The other one was from my exh's brother's MIL when we were visiting said brother in America, she told me I was 'sick' for feeding my 2 year old.

Also, Jardins des Tuileries/Tuileries Gardens in Paris. It was a peaceful feed in the early morning on the steps of Ecole du Louvre.

While walking between platforms at rush hour.
In a briefing with Special Branch.
Strangers Bar.

HavelockVetinari · 08/12/2018 18:23

In a Foxhound armoured vehicle.

Fluffiest · 08/12/2018 18:23

I guess church is the most interesting place but agree with others that it's not that out there.

My nicest public breastfeeding experience was mentioning to a shop assistant in a dressing room that DD was getting grouchy so I was going to take her to a cafe to feed her and the shop assistant offered me the use of their largest dressing room. It was really comfy and private, with a nice armchair. It was such a thoughtful gesture that I always make a point of returning to the shop when I can.

TooDamnSarky · 08/12/2018 18:31

On the top of Table Mountain. (South Africa)
Very windy.

DontMakeMeShushYou · 08/12/2018 18:34

In my mortgage advisor's office in the bank whilst on speaker-phone to head office

mumsastudent · 08/12/2018 18:37

this is good! :) mentioned about where I had breast fed (decades ago:) ) on another string to a new mum & she said it would be good for new mums to gain confidence seeing where all of us/you! breast fed. To the lady who bottle fed - this isn't a criticism its about overcoming negative attitudes/comments & having the confidence to bf in public places. ie encouraging other woman to feel comfortable about bf in public! My dear MIL (overseas) - kept telling my sil & her daughters that they should bf & using me as an example (not sure how that went down! :) sadly there was an attitude about bottle being "modern"
