Getting fed up of him promoting his mates/people who scratch his back. He lives in a world where everyone is middle class and wealthy with young kids and this is who he broadcasts to. Yes, I know I can turn him off and will do so - the Noel Edmonds back-slapping and promotion interview has just pushed me over the edge!

I can completely believe he is a bully, he gets on with Vassos because he never disagrees and goes along with whatever Chris is talking about.

To the poster who said Graham should be replaced with Alan Carr and Mel Sykes Shock .. there are no words for that show...and that would only give me Paul O'Grady to listen to.

@cushioncuddle

The presenters don’t choose the music- and I agree it needs sorting out.

These over excited shouty ‘jocks’ are very 90s and have had their day. He was awful on Top Gear, Matt Le Blanc was calm and natural and made him look like a try hard.

beachyhead · 07/12/2018 09:32

He's not the only man to have children, Peter Andre has them too Smile

Babdoc · 07/12/2018 09:43

Radio 2 used to be great. Terry Wogan was hilarious, erudite, and so laid back and relaxed - a gentle start to the day, instead of Evans’ shouty approach.
And Jimmy Young was a brilliant interviewer at lunchtime. He actually listened to his guests, he was expert at lulling politicians with his deceptively simple gentleness into making major revelations, and he managed difficult phone in listeners with aplomb. Jeremy Vine is a pathetic replacement.
Ken Bruce and Graham Norton are the only ones left worth listening to, although Craig Charles can be amusing in small doses.

NancyDonahue · 07/12/2018 09:49

I watched an old 'Would I Lie to You' last night while cooking dinner. Terry Wogan was on it. It made me well up a bit as he really was a one off. A genuinely lovely warm and very funny, without being loud and crass, man.

Jeanclaudejackety · 07/12/2018 09:50

He's so annoying and I hate when he gets his kids on, they aren't cute they're just annoying

longwayoff · 07/12/2018 09:53

Can't bear music radio and all the narcissistic djs. Ugh. But has the wonderful Roy Wood won something? If so hurrah!

Yabbers · 07/12/2018 09:56

I just wish Sara Cox was taking over, she's grown on me and I find her nice and quiet in the morning and she's funny

Me too. It was like having your best mate chatting in the kitchen with you when she filled in. Zoe is more like your mate’s mate trying too hard to be noticed.

Sarah Cox turned it down
Don’t think so. She tweeted on the day it was announced that she was gutted.

Oorwulliesbucket · 07/12/2018 10:00

Ah the joys of having radio Scotland to listen to on my morning commute, even if the subject matter is over my head it's so therapeutic to listen too.

kelper · 07/12/2018 10:03

I love Sara Cox on her evening show, when I'm on a night shift I look forward to her.
I've recently discovered absolute 90s so I tend to put that on as soon as Ken finishes, but I don't have a DAB radio at work :(
Ill tell you what annoys me hugely though, the repeating of shows from the weekend overnight during the week! I don't mind Tony Blackburn, but when I'm working 7pm-7am saturday and sunday, and then have to listen to him 3 times that drives me crazy!!
I do love Paul O'Grady and Liza Tarbuck though.
CE has got very samey over the past few months, and so "I know best" with everything. Looking forward to the New Year

Fooferella · 07/12/2018 10:03

Sara Cox on drivetime! That is good news however I've really started to warm up to Jo and Simon. I'm so pleased that Jo is going back to an evening slot again though. I love the music she plays.

I agree about CE. I liked him at first but now it's just formulaic and insufferable. Our local DJs are much funnier and seem genuinely lovely so I tend to listen to them because DH does and I have no choice
And yes, yes, to the poster who commented on the music. If I wanted to listen to the latest vacuous chart hits I have my local commercial station for that. Radio 2 should be playing the best of non-mainstream and classics.

Waspnest · 07/12/2018 10:15

Oh God I can't wait until CE leaves - my clock radio comes on just as that 'Good morning, good morning' chant thing kicks in, makes me feel like I've woken to some kind of psychedelic circle of hell. I would have preferred Sara Cox, but anyone would be an improvement really, I can't bare all that fake deep philosophical shit (and laughing at the idea of ferret racing!)

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I quite like SW, I think his interviews with people are good - he actually seems interested in the answers (unlike CE who is just looking for an opportunity to give his own views) though I can't stand love songs.

And no more Noah Evans thank God (I wouldn't normally slag off a child but I'll make an exception in this case).

movpov · 07/12/2018 10:54

I haven't listened much to the radio in years, if I do it's Heart or Smooth, but I never could stand Chris Evans and his constant shouting whether it was on radio or tv; and I have never understood his appeal; whatever it was it completely passed me by.

Wooooooooaaaaaaaahhhhhhh · 07/12/2018 13:39

Jeremy Vine just drives me mad. He seems to have zero clue about the people he’s interviewing and the subjects he’s discussing.

Do they not read a brief first or something? His questions are mind bogglingly stupid.

For example the bit he did about cochlear implants, he claimed they are ‘a cure for deafness wow’! No they really aren’t Jeremy. Do a bit of reading and stop talking like a twat.

chocatoo · 07/12/2018 13:45

I would have preferred Sarah Cox - she's warm and funny. I really like her.

noodlenosefraggle · 07/12/2018 15:23

Jeremy Vine seems to be playing some sort of game now he is on 5 as well. Either he's painfully unfunny and is just trying really hard to be humorous or he is just deliberately being thick for the sake of it. I cant work out which it is!

NoraEphronsneck · 07/12/2018 18:16

Billy's boy I think Jeremy is in love with Storm Huntley Wink

Good to see the love for Sara Cox.

I think most of us seem to have missed Agadododo's update re CE's antics - very good clue.

Whocansay · 07/12/2018 18:32

I quite like him. But he has a habit of talking over the last 3rd of a song. That gives me The Rage.

I would also have much preferred Sara Cox to take over. I can't listen to Zoe Ball at that time of day. She gives me a headache. I'll be off to an Absolute station instead.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 07/12/2018 19:05

I really miss Terry.

billysboy · 07/12/2018 19:30

I think JV is coming across as uncle Perv

WindyWednesday · 07/12/2018 19:33

I love J V.

Jeanclaudejackety · 08/12/2018 00:56

Bbc radio lancs 👌

Livedandlearned2 · 08/12/2018 10:00

I so wish that Sara Cox was replacing CE. I would stay on r2 up until Jeremy Vine then. I'll be flicking between Kiss breakfast and Heart as our local presenters are very good, I just hate all the adverts.

Graham Norton, Paul O Grady and Liza are also great but I don't listen on a weekend very often.

HolyMountain · 08/12/2018 10:28

I’ve always been a CE fan but the last few weeks have been fucking awful.

The CIN auctions, slobbering over Noel —fucking supervet—and his non stop attempts to try to get Michelle Obama on the show this week set my bloody teeth on edge.

I’ll be glad when he fucks off to Virgin!
