Getting fed up of him promoting his mates/people who scratch his back. He lives in a world where everyone is middle class and wealthy with young kids and this is who he broadcasts to. Yes, I know I can turn him off and will do so - the Noel Edmonds back-slapping and promotion interview has just pushed me over the edge!

Spill Agadododo!

Chillspot · 06/12/2018 10:12

Agadododo - re your post... So what's the goss?

keely71 · 06/12/2018 10:12

Ken Bruce is the only one worth listening to.

keely71 · 06/12/2018 10:14

I thought Chris was leaving because the BBC now have to publish what they all earn & he got a strop about it?

NancyDonahue · 06/12/2018 10:16

That's intriguing Agadododo.

Surely he wouldn't have done such a long notice period if that was the case? He announced he was leaving months ago.

NoraEphronsneck · 06/12/2018 10:17

Ooh Agadododo, what do you know. I have a few (very) tenuous contacts in and around CE show, so I'm going to do a little bit of digging....

Patroclus · 06/12/2018 10:18

I think Sara Cox was offered it but turned it down so they gave it to Zoe Ball I read somewhere

Twickerhun · 06/12/2018 10:22

Ah my people. I stopped listening to CE in the mornings too - I now listen to radio 3 as the total antidote. I’m looking forward to Zoe ball starting the breakfast show

mycatsadog · 06/12/2018 10:22

Agree!! CE makes me want to rip off my ears. So self-serving and smug. When he does that auction thing where basically rich people pay to drive over priced boys toys sports cars - gives me the total rage. Also - those "what did you do different today" kids things - its always posh children ...."so Hermione, what are you doing today for the first time? ....I'm playing my first piano concerto in front of a live audience to raise funds for disadvantaged children in Malawi". (okay so that is unfair but you get my drift).

Like Zoe Ball now that she has calmed down a bit - Sara Cox is too mumbly for me and she needs to take more breaths while speaking rather than force really long sentences out! Love love love Lisa Tarbuck!

Ballbags · 06/12/2018 10:22

Is Vassos etc also leaving the show, as CE keeps talking about it being 'our' last show on Dec 24th?

Also why is Simon Mayo leaving? He was very gushing about Jo Whiley saying it was nothing to do with her, despite their terrible chemistry.

strawberrisc · 06/12/2018 10:28

I used to love his shows - the Big Breakfast/Don't Forget Your Toothbrush/TFI Friday.

His radio show though. Ugh. They had this feature (bearing in mind I only gave it a month) and it was something new a child was doing that day. They were all "Tarquins" and "Sebastians" and all spoke with Received Pronunciation. I was waiting for someone Northern to come on to say they were racing their first ferret.

HiHoToffee · 06/12/2018 10:34

Agree with you all, the reason I wake up to his show is because it makes it easier to get up.

mycatsadog · 06/12/2018 10:35

@strawberrisc GrinGrinGrin that would truly be worth listening to!

haggisaggis · 06/12/2018 10:40

I used to like him in the morning on my commute but now find I’m driving with one finger on the off button- and just switch on for the music. I HATE the Friday shows - and apparently every day on the final week will be that format so think I’ll be listening to something else that week.
Simon and Jo seem to have relaxed a lot since Simon revealed he was leaving. Quite enjoying their show now - and Simon seems to be enjoying deliberately mentioning product brands against BBC policy as I guess they can’t get on to him for it now.

Imnotswallowingthat · 06/12/2018 10:42

It's a terrible show. Everything about it is annoying. But the thing that grates most is that Vassos bloke, his voice just irritates the hell out of me for some reason.

billysboy · 06/12/2018 11:08

hopefully they will fuck them all off when ginge leaves , vassos, moira etc

If you are being paid millions to do the breakfast show then get on and do it un aided by more overpaid sychophants

Jeremy Vine is in love with Sarah Jarvis

Ballbags · 06/12/2018 11:13

Sarah Jarvis has a very clacky mouth - you know, when someone sort of makes a wet sound every time they speak. It's very radio-unfriendly and off-putting.

LuckyDiamond · 06/12/2018 11:16

I haven’t listened to that twat since holly and Will were his sidekicks.

Intrigued at what naughtiness he’s been up to though.

(In other words place marking)

WindyWednesday · 06/12/2018 11:23

Agadododo don’t leave us hanging. Give us a clue....

HowlsMovingBungalow · 06/12/2018 11:25

Ballbags - Totally agree, Dr wet mouth.

TheFaerieQueene · 06/12/2018 11:30

I loathe him. My main reason is the CIN auction every year, where only the very wealthy get a chance to win. It would be far fairer if it was done as a raffle with ticket prices being much more affordable. But that won’t happen because he doesn’t want to mix with ordinary people. I really think this auction flies in the face of the suppose ethos of the BBC.

Agadododo · 06/12/2018 11:56

Well most have a deadline at the end of January but some miss theirs......repeatedly.

AdamNichol · 06/12/2018 11:58

I used to object to the CIN auction being about maximum donation, until my better half pointed out that this extracted maximum contribution from those with the most to give, not just contribs from the masses.
And there were places in the disco, magnificent 7, etc, on a luck basis for "normal folk" donations

LuckyDiamond · 06/12/2018 12:00

Interesting considering what a fucking scattercash he is.

Melamin · 06/12/2018 12:03

Waiting for the news to come out now. Drums finger impatiently.
