To wonder why people are so gullible

On here and on fb. People are so quick to respond to sob stories without giving the slightest heed to the fact that they are almost certainly bullshit.

I know people will say that truth can be stranger than fiction and that events in their own lives have seemed unbelievable but come on. Some of the stuff in here at the moment is akin to the dog with ham in his face!

I do know what you mean though. Some of the sex/vaginal health ones are so fucking obvious and yet people cheerfully share their own experiences

I’ve seen a lot of “Someone claiming to be HMRC tried to con my brother- it was only spotted because the guy in Sainsbury’s wondered why he was trying to buy £737 of iTunes vouchers”.

I hate spam, spammers, scammers etc etc but genuinely, who thinks you can pay HMRC in iTunes cards...

The dog with ham on its face perplexes me. I can't work out if people think it's real or if it was originally posted as a joke to see how gullible people are and then everyone who passes it on is actually laughing at other people for believing it, when in actual fact no one believes it but they all think that other people believe it. If you know what I mean!

Sadly, this is actually a VERY common scam. I live in North America and people get these phone calls all the time. We have gotten a phone call stating that we owed taxes and were about to be prosecuted. Fortunately, we called the revenue agency first and determined there were no issues with our account. In fact, this issue has become so common that gift card displays actually often have signs up stating that the revenue agency will NEVER ask you to pay in gift cards, and that this is a scam. I believe they also make cashiers aware of this scam. (Gift cards cannot be activated at a self-checkout in my area, they have to be activated by a human cashier.)

Some people are just really thick. Theres no point in trying to understand them.

As I'm sure you know, the outcome for the dog was entirely decided by the number of likes and shares on Facebook.

The ham-dog owner needs help.

Thing is most of the trolls have tragic circumstances, and no one wants to accuse them of lying just incase it is true.

There's also people who will call troll at anything, when there's nothing particularly obvious in there.

I generally sit back and watch, or report without saying anything, I think it's the best way.
