t-bar shoes when lashing down

Why are girls put in T-bar shoes in the pouring down rain?
Looking around today, every single girl bar one going into school was wearing T-bars.
every single boy was of course wearing proper shoes without great big holes on the top of them,
every single mother was wearing boots or full shoes.
Why do they think it's OK for girls to get wet / cold feet?

Dd lives in knee boots from mid September to April, then switches to shoes. That tends to solve the wet foot issue

I started buying the boots because i got completely sick of there being no shoes that were actually suitable

Why are so many people asking where you can buy sensible shoes for girls? Go to the boys section. Feet are feet.

I was wearing T bar shoes in the rain today. I didn't melt!

TBH working in a school they all get wet feet splashing in puddles on the playground irrespective of the type of shoe. They only have indoor play if it's pouring down. I'm far more concerned about the children who come into school without a coat when it's wet, cold, windy, or even icy outside.

My Dd wears doc martens for school

She's 4

One teacher said they're unsuitable for school. I'd like to know how the fuck comfortable safe warm boots that are black are unsuitable

Believe it or not my child honestly never complains of wet feet when wearing Clark's t-bars but does when wearing wellies. Or will moan about stones in shoes/boots (every fucking time) except when wearing her T-bars. It drives me daft, but some children are very fussy and sensitive about socks/tights/shoes irritating them.

My boys have never had wet feet when splashing in puddles wearing their school shoes. DS1 has sensory issues and would not tolerate a wet sock. The goretex ones we get are brilliant and last really well. Last year both boys had them from mid Sept - June. Best money I've ever spent.

I see a lot of adults in weather innapropriate clothing tbh. Skirts/shorts when its cold and rainy. ballerina pumps in the winter. Not a proper coat. I dont know how they can cope with it. I feel the cold so much.
Someone I know came round wearing fucking flip flops the other day. I was in ugg boots. Apparently she gets really hot feet.

It doesnt seem surprising that if not all adults wear thermals and boots all winter, that they wont always think to put their kids in them either. I dont think its a sign of neglect
