@KeyboardCat ahem now don't be that person. Share your thinking please.

NoCureForLove · 06/12/2018 21:42

Pray do tell Keyboard.... Please?

Buzziebeethree · 06/12/2018 21:51

?

coolwalking · 06/12/2018 21:52

@KeyboardCat with respect I think your theory is too complicated.

Still looking for something to beat my theory. 'I know him as Well'

coolwalking · 06/12/2018 21:55

The original riddle focuses on the name Boswell. That's why I think the solution has to be linked to that without actually adding to the name.

The clue is in the statement

KeyboardCat · 06/12/2018 22:02

It's on the last page - not that complicated really. Bos is Bos, leaving 'well' on the stairs, stairwell going round and round trying to figure it out but can't. When you figure it out it's no longer going round and round. It becomes wrong.

Den1se · 06/12/2018 22:08

Boswell. They called him Bos .Four (letters) short.End of story. Nothing else is relevant.

Dairyqueen2 · 06/12/2018 22:12

Genius.

Den1se · 06/12/2018 22:26

Dairyqueen,thanks.Ask me another!

WeShouldOpenABar · 06/12/2018 22:28

Thank you

Bringbackbertha · 06/12/2018 22:39

I think keyboard might be on to something

The more I thought about it the more I thought I had heard it before and knew the answer.

I can't tell you what the answer is but I think I know it just by thinking about the riddle. It's like my sub concious has worked it out and convinced me I know the answer when I can't actually tell anyone the answer..... it's not funny it's bloody weird

NoCureForLove · 06/12/2018 22:59

What? What? What does that mean Bertha??

coolwalking · 06/12/2018 23:02

I don't understand why people are accepting the "no answer" as the solution.

It's a joke and that's not a joke.

You're saying there is no answer/ solution because you can't think of something. Never mind the OP has repeatedly said that the "no joke" option is wrong.

Also wrong is the words all bunched together and the for/four short

dogzdinner · 06/12/2018 23:03

Alien abduction? 👽

alphajuliet123 · 06/12/2018 23:05

The answer is: Bosandhewalkedupthepostofficesteps is NOT short for Boswell.

(I reckon)

coolwalking · 06/12/2018 23:07

The words bunched up together is not the solution

boringlyboring · 06/12/2018 23:08

Dairyqueen2 please explain your riddle 🙏 I’ve read and reread and I don’t get it (your second post confused me more)

I thought you were meant to count the letters in the sentence and then count the letters in the word for how many letters there are 😂

Thegirlinthefireplace · 06/12/2018 23:13

Boring - the question has an answer that must be a number (because it asks for the number of letters in the answer). The number which is the answer must have the same number of letters in it as the actual number, because the answer IS the number of letters in the answer. Four is the only number with the same number of letters in it as the actual number.

I don't think I've explained that very well Blush

BloodyUseless · 06/12/2018 23:23

Nearly there now

coolwalking · 06/12/2018 23:24

How many more times can we have "four short" or "Andy" suggested

Dairyqueen2 · 06/12/2018 23:32

Boringly - yeah, it kind of works backwards from the fact that 'four' is the only number word that has the correct number of letters in it, if you see what I mean. So from that basis you can form the riddle 'How many letters are there in the answer to this question?'. The only possible answer is 'four' because that's the only number word that works in that way. If it's any consolation, I couldn't get the answer until it was spelt out to me. Dogz must be very very bright ...

BoswellandAndAndyForshort · 06/12/2018 23:32

“How many more times can we have "four short" or "Andy" suggested”

At a guess were four short of the complete amount.

Pah, ha ha, ha! (I’m so very witty)

BoswellandAndAndyForshort · 06/12/2018 23:33

*We’re, not were

NoTeaForMe · 06/12/2018 23:36

Is there still no answer? Where’s the OP of the original thread?

GabsAlot · 06/12/2018 23:37

ive skipped most coz i was going mad

how do we know the firend is just syaing of course its a real joke as the actual joke and its nothing more than a family thing that makes no sense
