to think that all GP's (Doctors) work part-time?

Based on my tiny personal knowledge of 4 GP's that are friends, and a couple of others that are friends of friends etc, I'm coming to the conclusion that they all work part-time hours. Is this real? Or is it just the ones that I know. I have no idea whether any of the GP's at 'my' practice work full-time or not, but at least 3 of them work only two days/week.

So AIBU to think that they're a bunch of part-timers? And what causes this? Stress or lucrative locum contracts?

Tee hee. I do taxes for plumbers and electricians. They do not listen properly either
And yes the mansplaining by staff in big financial institutions is surreal.

I fairly recently was supporting a new start up company with their findraising and the "boy" venture capitalist at the meeting (who wasn't an accountant and who obviously hadn't bothered to read the biogs we'd included in the pack) very patiently explained to me (obviously thinking my plump middleaged motherly figure couldn't possible be containing any experience or knowledge) how we should considering hedging the currency risk (fair enough - though we had considered it - he hadn't read that bit either) and went on to explain to me what hedging was.

I let him explain and then pointed out that I'd been the European Group Treasurer for a FTSE 100 company for a number of years and really didn't need the explanation (particularly as he had NO practical experience of any currency dealing).

I did smile sweetly though, cos we wanted their money.

My friend a GP with small children works part time. She is up at 6am doing paperwork. I would not have her part time job at any cost. The paperwork since the Shipman mass murder mess is horrendous.
