Why are only some foods deemed acceptable for breakfast

Why are pork and fish in various forms normal for breakfast when chicken or lamb would be viewed as odd by most people (in the UK I mean)?

Also why are things like leftover curry/pizza/Chinese so good for breakfast? I also happen to think chocolate tastes its best if it’s the first thing you’ve eaten that day.

But please don’t get me started on ‘breakfast biscuits’ Hmm

What’s your favourite breakfast? Is it something unacceptable?

I agree about the cereal, I'm boring and have toast every day. I'm 55 now and I've had toast everyday since I could eat solid food, so that's over 50 years of eating the same thing everyday. Why am I not bored with it?!

sgtFred I hadn’t seen it but I love it!

I was recently in Ireland for a family emergency and in all the shit that was happening a lovely breakfast roll (the lovely lady even offered to cut the fat off the bacon, i felt very spoiled!) was very comforting.

I usually have porridge, toast or eggs. Occasional fry up at weekend.

I agree about cereal, utterly pointless empty calories and whenever I have it I’m hungry an hour later! i can’t understand why so many people feed it to their kids before school.

I’ve been dreadfully lazy recently and have been having a cheese toastie for breakfast from the work canteen at about 9.30. Delicious. If my waistline allowed I’d have one every day for ever more.
