The space bar, did you know?

So I have just discovered by holding down the space bar on my phone keyboard, I can move the cursor to wherever I want on my message....

This will save me hours of frustration and having to undo loads of text I actually want!

I thought I'd share, but maybe you all already knew abs didn't tell me?

Actually it’s nothing to do with the space bar if you hold down anywhere on your phone keypad you can move the cursor to where you want

Dogatemysock I know exactly what you mean. The browsers 'find in page' function is what I usually use, but no help if they've spelled it wrong

I'm an iphone user and was delighted to come across this tip on twitter a few days ago. Yes, you can tap to put the cursor where you want it - unless that happens to be in the middle of a word. So now you can replace an errant letter or two without having to delete and retype the whole word. Useful if you've been writing about antidisestablishmentarianism ;)

If you just place your finger anywhere on the text and hold it there, a magnifying spot comes up and that helps you see where the cursor is too.

I dont have i phone but if i want to move my cursor i just tap where i want to type.

So I thought it was the same as just tapping as I can get anywhere I want to by tapping but it gives you much more nuanced dexterity and is much quicker. Also you don't have to reach up to where the text is

Space bar blah blah whatever, but I got seriously surprised by the Claudia Winkleman/Eve Pollard thing, and then realised that I'd confused Eve Pollard with Sue Pollard ……..
