The space bar, did you know?

So I have just discovered by holding down the space bar on my phone keyboard, I can move the cursor to wherever I want on my message....

This will save me hours of frustration and having to undo loads of text I actually want!

I thought I'd share, but maybe you all already knew abs didn't tell me?

I saw this on FB the other day, it’s fab.

Before, I would try and place the cursor but fat fingers wouldn’t get the cursor in the right place, and then it’d end up doing that highlighting pink thing and deleting perfectly good words aargh.

Not on this phone. It just adds a space

I think you have to have updated to iOS 12 for this to work.

@syvilla must be an iPhone thing. I can put my cursor anywhere I want to buy just tapping.

This does the exact same thing but adds a space I don't want, so it creates with for me.

I admit that I also didn’t know that if you just press and hold on the cursor it zooms in and you can drag it about to the middle of a word to fix it. Just tried it and it’s not as easy as the space bar but still good.

I thought this related to laptops - I just realised recently that if I hit the space bar the page scrolls down very conveniently.

@empmalswa I cannot nor does anyone else respond to everyone, it's impossible! You're being far, far to sensitive! I don't think AIBU is the place for you!

Jay Rayner shared that tip this week - Ido find it so much easier than just tapping to move the cursor. It is a brilliant tip for those of us who need it - and why didn't anyone tell me in the last few years?

(BTW I only realised this week that Jay Rayner's mum was Claire Rayner.)

Anyway - those who have trouble with keyboards and are not using AppleWank, try SwiftKey keyboard. VERY customisable, learns from your writing style, you can create "clips" of frequently used text and insert it with a shortcut (eg I type "tx1" and it inserts "Thank you for your attention and I look forward to hearing from you soon.")

Also I saw the title of this thread in Trending and spent a good 15 minutes ignoring it thinking it was about a trendy new wine bar...
