And if you have what was the first thing you spent it on?

Won £24 once. I was quite gutted because I had four numbers which I thought meant a decent prize! Just kept it in my lottery account and used it for more tickets

Barbie222 · 23/11/2018 21:35

I've made quite a lot by never bothering to buy a ticket.

imboredtonight · 23/11/2018 21:37

I won a tenner once actually. I bought another ticket and some take out food I think

I won £5000 years ago when I was 21. 5numbers. I spent it on a holiday and generally having a great time with my friends.

The80sweregreat · 23/11/2018 21:38

2.80 on the euromillions.
Didn't change my life! Lol

PetiteMamaNoel · 23/11/2018 21:40

Around £25. Can't even remember what I spent it on. Couple more lucky dips I think.

Coached · 23/11/2018 21:42

My DH’s mate won about 15 years ago.

6 figures.

Didn’t change him at all (except make him even more of a tight-arse).

He was sensible with it (including getting a prenup, which he ended up needing) and has a nice lifestyle but not flashy. Normal 4 bed house on an estate, still works incredibly hard, but he doesn’t need to worry about money.

Oysterbabe · 23/11/2018 21:45

My dad won 40k on the football pools about 8 years ago. He put it in savings.

TheJive · 23/11/2018 21:46

No.

Posting to read what others did with their win.

callymarch · 23/11/2018 21:46

Havent done the lottery in many years but did when it first started back in the 90's. won a couple of tenners then got 4 numbers and won £70 - bought some towels for my first house.

Rachelover40 · 23/11/2018 21:46

Three or four times I've won £10 in people's postcode lottery, which I intended only to play once but have never remembered to cancel the monthly payment. It goes into my paypal account so not used for anything specific. It's nice to win though.

TellerTuesday4EVA · 23/11/2018 21:48

I once got 2 lucky dips on one ticket... I got 3 numbers on one line & the other 3 on the 2nd line... got £20 & put it in DD's money box... I'm still not over it emotionally & haven't played since so guess was the closest I'll come to winning it!!

ilovesooty · 23/11/2018 21:49

I know someone whose sister won 1m on the Euro millions raffle.

CherLooksYoungerThanMe · 23/11/2018 21:50

£6.50 on the Euromillions. Bought breakfast.

BonnieF · 23/11/2018 21:50

About 15 years ago, our office syndicate matched 5 numbers. We won £98 each. I spent it on dinner for me & DP at a posh restaurant.

SunflowerJo08 · 23/11/2018 21:52

I've only ever won £25 maybe twice and then a few low wins on the euro. Just not worth bothering with really especially now they have put more numbers in the mix.

I think the prize money should be far higher for 4 numbers upwards and it shouldn't keep rolling over, if nobody wins the top prize it should filter down and start afresh the following week - this way more people would play as you'd get better prizes.

ChikiTIKI · 23/11/2018 21:53

I only buy a ticket about once a year maximum, maybe once every 2 years. I am convinced I will win one day though!

I was on a roll once, I found £2 on the floor at the train station and bought a ticket, can't remember if it was lottery or euromillions. But I got however many numbers you need for a free go. That happened about 5 times in a row! And then I got nothing. Was fun though. My mum seemed worried and said I should stop. Probably because I kept talking about it. I just wanted to get one extra number and win £25. I would have felt like a millionaire!!

AmyLou14 · 23/11/2018 21:53

£268 4 numbers, about this time last year. Had just spent every penny of wages in Xmas night out, hair ect. Decided to turn it into a weekend bender on the credit card, would pay it off when money hit my bank account....... woke up on the Monday pregnant. Currently spending Friday night watching giggle box while my 3 month old baby watches me eat crisps the way the cat watches me eat tempura prawns.

Elderflower14 · 23/11/2018 22:02

I won £50 the other day on the normal lottery. Totally unexpected. My friend scanned my ticket in the shop and as there were people behind me she just said "Ooooh!" and showed me the ticket...
I'm spending Christmas with ds2 and on CD we are helping serve lunch to the local homeless people so on BD we will go to the nearest Toby Carvery for lunch with my winnings!! ☺

Bath9000 · 23/11/2018 22:03

Never won more than £25 at a time Hmm

anitagreen · 23/11/2018 22:04

@ChikiTIKI that is hilarious Grin

HildaZelda · 23/11/2018 22:08

About £20. I'm an infrequent lottery player though, which might also explain why I never win!

A friend of mine got 5 numbers recently. He was over the moon only he discovered he'd only won about £2000.
I know it's not to be sneezed at, but with 5 numbers he thought he'd won a few hundred thousand :(

TheMythicalChicken · 23/11/2018 22:11

My great aunt won £34k and spent it on a round the world cruise.

My gran won the pools and bought a bed & breakfast in Yorkshire.

Tillytrotter123 · 23/11/2018 22:12

My aunt won 30k on postcode lottery. She had a weekend away and put the rest in premium bonds.

WesternOatman · 23/11/2018 22:13

Name change.

I won £68m. I’m now on tablets for depression and extreme anxiety and face had one inpatient episode. I was fine before the win. Make of that what you will.
