Ok, so this has been discussed many a time, but nothing ever seems to change, every year, people still seem to enjoy adorning their homes with these eye bleeding, migraine inducing, brain splitting fuckers. Would you consider reforming your blue light ways for the sake of your fellow neighbours? Will you finally ‘see the light’ Wink and change to any other colour instead? Please? begging

My neighbours, who are otherwise lovely people, were the very first to switch from warm white to cold ice white for their outdoor icicles. And they like a lot of lights.
Thr first year they put them up, I was worried that a Jumbo jet was going to mistake our road for the nearby Luton Airport runway and try to land!

greendale17 · 23/11/2018 09:48

I hate blue lights

xJessica · 23/11/2018 09:59

They're so unchridtmassy. There's a house near us on a country road where they have them flashing on and off and when you see them in the distance it totally looks like the emergency services are up ahead.

Whilst we are vaguely on the subject, I'm in London where Morrisons have recently started doing home delivery. Their delivery vans are painted bright yellow, the same colour as London ambulances. I'm always confusing the two for a split second. Please Morrisons, reconsider the colour!

Where I grew up blue lights are used by people celebrating Hanukkah.

I have no idea why anyone would be bothered by how someone else chooses to celebrate the holidays whether it be Christmas or Hanukkah. Hmm

WhirlyGigWhirlyGig · 23/11/2018 10:54

MrsWombat same here. Every time I see the Morrison's van of yellow with green I have to double check it's not an ambulance. They've been here a couple of years and we have lots of rural roads around. I'm surprised they've been allowed to continue with them.

Slightly late to the party but I completely concur

I can get briefly on board with minimal multi coloured lights but blue lights are just awful

(Not as awful as Exdh once buying God awful red ones with a matching plastic lot up tree decoration that "accidently " got mislaid...cant think of who did that now Grin)

I wish we had neighbourhood watch to monitor this ...but we are a bit too close to London and bloody diversity in Christmas lights is de rigueur

origamiwarrior · 23/11/2018 11:18

Bule lights, or cheap nasty, ice-white lights (i.e. white lights with a blueish tinge) must be banned.

Pinkkittens292 · 23/11/2018 11:27

They do look pretty when close up, but I can't escape the association of emergency services when seeing them in the distance.

I also have to be really careful with my migraines as flashing lights are one of my prime triggers (I suffer from the vile visual type where I lose up to 80% of my visual field).

exWifebeginsat40 · 28/11/2018 12:58

to be clear - we have ‘runway’ lights set in our driveway and they are very blue, and also beautiful. i haven’t seen my neighbours on this thread, so i will assume everyone loves them.

in my defence, we don’t have any houses opposite, and we don’t leave them on overnight. and no aircraft have landed yet, which is handy since we live on a flight path between two fighter jet/apache helicopter airbases..

squashyhat · 28/11/2018 13:07

Team blue light here. I live on a lane with no streetlights and on a cold frosty night my small string (non flashing) outside the front door look beautiful.

mostdays · 28/11/2018 13:09

We have blue lights but you'll only see them if I invite you in to my house, so you're safe.

Theperfectchangeling · 29/11/2018 09:58

You most definetly are safe mostdays Wink
