I posted here before about my DS wierd bruise under his armpit went to a n e and they checked him over no problems. Got a call of the gp today asking us to go in checked him over and she's not happy with it. we've got to get a blood test done and going to the main hospital 112 miles away. They are going to be checking for leukaemia and blood disorders. I'm fucking shitting it. Thinking the worst of the worse. Waiting on phone call to tell us when to go hopefully today possibly tomorrow....

Holding your child still while they endure a medical procedure is one of the hardest things a mum can ever do.

Fingers crossed for a result that brings an easy-to-fix explanation for the bruising.

We are all rooting for you ❤️

HaulingFreight · 21/11/2018 18:51

Oh God how terrifying! I hope the results come out ok, big hugs to you both xx

Bobbiepin · 21/11/2018 19:30

Got everything crossed for you OP.

Is it possible that DP is minimising it all because he's scared and doesn't want to admit it/worry you further etc?

IRememberSoIDo · 21/11/2018 19:49

I really hope your ds is ok. You are in my thoughts.

Isadora2007 · 21/11/2018 19:56

Hawkmoth · 21/11/2018 20:35

What? Why?

HollowTalk · 21/11/2018 20:36

Is that because of his bruise?

ItWasntMeItWasIm · 21/11/2018 20:36

What on earth!?

NotSoThinLizzy · 21/11/2018 20:37

Yeah because of his bruise. Think gp is just trying to cover her was really. We had a chat and I don't know what's going to happen next.

Oh good grief.

StealingYourWiFi · 21/11/2018 20:45

Sorry to hear about your DS. I'm also sorry to hear about the referral, GP is following procedure exactly as she should. It's a typical area where a 'grab type bruise' would appear. Try not to worry too much about their involvement. Wishing DS well. Hope you manage to get some rest tonight Flowers

shaftedbythesystem · 21/11/2018 20:48

Blimey! So stressful for you! Big hugs x

scatteredglitter · 21/11/2018 20:50

Thinking of you Op and hope the results all clear xx

SD1978 · 21/11/2018 20:53

I'm assuming the blood results came back negative then, which at least is something positive? I'm sorry you had the added stress of the police being there- that would have been horrible, but I can't imagine they will want to see you past the initial interview at the hospital?

Schuyler · 21/11/2018 20:53

Did they not tell you they were making a referral? Flowers

bubbles108 · 21/11/2018 21:01

Lots of love 💕

BasilFaulty · 21/11/2018 21:09

Sorry, why was there a police officer with social services? I'm a PC and have never heard of this unless we are taking the child into immediate police protective custody. How is the little mite feeling now? Hope you get the results soon. Brew

Threadastaire · 21/11/2018 21:19

OP I didn't see your previous thread so apologies if I've missed things, but if a child is non mobile and has a bruise that isn't easily explained then its standard practice that social services and police are made aware so that they can discuss and agree next steps. That doesn't neccesarily mean there will be a role for police and social services but it's something that has to be a joint professional decision, not just left to medics on their own. That said it is unusual to find a policeman waiting to talk to you and I'm sorry it's happened in that way.

NotSoThinLizzy · 21/11/2018 21:26

Results arnt even in yet and trust me DS is mobile as in running and climbing things. I didn't write clear it was one police man that the social has contacted to come round by himself. The social themselves wasn't here just him.
