I posted here before about my DS wierd bruise under his armpit went to a n e and they checked him over no problems. Got a call of the gp today asking us to go in checked him over and she's not happy with it. we've got to get a blood test done and going to the main hospital 112 miles away. They are going to be checking for leukaemia and blood disorders. I'm fucking shitting it. Thinking the worst of the worse. Waiting on phone call to tell us when to go hopefully today possibly tomorrow....

Sorry to see what time your most recent post was made. I hope you’ve managed some sleep since then

The admin staff probably start working at 9ish, and I hope you get a call soon after that.

NotSoThinLizzy · 21/11/2018 10:35

DS decided breakfast was at 4am this morning 😂 then went back to sleep at 5 just awake now. Going to do 2nd breakfast then give them a call

Thinking of you and thinking positive thoughts. I'm sure they test far more people for nasties than actually end up having them, but it doesn't make it less nerve-wracking! I hope it's good news. Smile

NotSoThinLizzy · 21/11/2018 11:02

Waiting on another phone call back from gp

Houseonahill · 21/11/2018 12:09

Fingers crossed you get an answer soon Flowers

Xiaoxiong · 21/11/2018 12:13

Hoping they call soon, waiting for test results is just the worst ThanksThanksThanks

mama17 · 21/11/2018 12:21

Thinking about you and your family 😘❤️

NotSoThinLizzy · 21/11/2018 12:49

Gp rang. She's been chasing them up and getting no where. She's going to ring me when she gets answers

Elliss2018 · 21/11/2018 12:58

How frustrating for you! I can't believe that no one has called you back yet.

Really hope that it's nothing sinister xxx

Magicpaintbrush · 21/11/2018 13:05

I hope you get some positive news today OP - hopefully this is just a scare and they are just being cautious to rule out anything worrying.

NotSoThinLizzy · 21/11/2018 13:06

The waiting is killing me. I honestly don't know what to do with myself

NotSoThinLizzy · 21/11/2018 13:19

Finally had a phone call. I've to go to a different hosp that's not so far away 😊. And there's no buses for a hour yet 😢

ItWasntMeItWasIm · 21/11/2018 13:20

At least you'll feel like you're doing something now. Waiting is horrible!

SinkGirl · 21/11/2018 13:29

Hope you’re okay OP

Magicpaintbrush · 21/11/2018 13:29

Oh! Have they said why you need to go to another hospital, will it be more tests or will you be speaking to somebody in person about the results? I really feel for you, it's horrible not knowing.

3luckystars · 21/11/2018 13:33

Get him to drink as much liquid as possible in the meantime, milk, water, cartons of Ribena, 7up, anything. Just try to have him hydrated because the blood test will be easier then.

Can your husband drive you there now?

3luckystars · 21/11/2018 13:35

Did they check his blood at A and E last time?

NotSoThinLizzy · 21/11/2018 13:52

Getting bloods done at this closer hosp (21 miles) as it'll be faster than going other one (112 miles). A n e didn't take bloods. When the letter went to gp about our vist the gp called us to go in and she looked him over and wants urgent bloods done. It's an anethnitist (not correct spelling)

Does anyone know if they'll numb it?

OP posts:
NotSoThinLizzy · 21/11/2018 13:53

Ment anethnitist doing the bloods as he's quite good with little veins

OP posts:
Houseonahill · 21/11/2018 14:20

Yes they will. They put some cream on both hands and then you go and wait (can't remember how long but about half an hour I think) and then they do them. My DD had them done at a similar age and she didn't cry or anything. Hope it goes smoothly for you.

NotSoThinLizzy · 21/11/2018 14:21

Perfect I know exactly how to distract him so hopefully he won't even know

OP posts:
Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 21/11/2018 14:23

Fingers and toes crossed for u. Xxxxxx

3luckystars · 21/11/2018 14:42

They put cream on it first here, its called lydocaine (that is not the correct spelling) and it numbs the area.

WhyAmISoCold · 21/11/2018 14:48

Fingers crossed for you OP!
