I posted here before about my DS wierd bruise under his armpit went to a n e and they checked him over no problems. Got a call of the gp today asking us to go in checked him over and she's not happy with it. we've got to get a blood test done and going to the main hospital 112 miles away. They are going to be checking for leukaemia and blood disorders. I'm fucking shitting it. Thinking the worst of the worse. Waiting on phone call to tell us when to go hopefully today possibly tomorrow....

Hope you get positive news Flowers

When I was about 17 I woke up one day with large patches of bruises all over my legs. They weren’t painful and I hadn’t done anything to cause bruises. I looked like a black and white cow with such huge patchy bruises!
I had some tests and everything came back clear. I have no idea what it was!

NotSoThinLizzy · 21/11/2018 15:28

In waiting room to be seen hopefully it won't take long. Thank you again everyone

I can almost guarantee you it's from picking him up if he's 14 months, we went through this with ds when he was around the same age. It took months before we made the connection but it was terrifying. Ds was a little chunker and I assume his weight contributing to me holding him a bit odd whw. I picked him up. Stopped picking him up under the arms (let him climb up himself if he wanted to be held or lifted) and the bruises stopped

HollowTalk · 21/11/2018 16:09

I hope everything's OK. I'm so glad they're seeing him so quickly.

NewMinouMinou · 21/11/2018 16:10

Really hoping it's nothing serious!! Sending hugs xx

Cherries101 · 21/11/2018 16:12

I carry a particular trait of a blood disease which results in bruising and abnormally shaped blood cells. Hopefully it’s something harmless.

My son had bloods taken at 2 years old, they couldn't get a vein and he was literally pinned down. It was horrific.

Seeing love op Thanks

CrookedMe · 21/11/2018 18:25

Oh dear Sad

At least it's done. Now to get past tomorrow!

Aprilsinparis · 21/11/2018 18:28

Please let us know the result OP.

pinkground202 · 21/11/2018 18:35

Hi OP, hope you are both ok now, I was in the same situation when DS was 2.5 and it was so hard. You need a really skilled person to get blood from those tiny veins.

It turned out that he had a very low platelet count, and after a few days in hospital and a transfusion he made a full recovery. He is 18 now and is perfectly healthy.

Fingers crossed for you

NotSoThinLizzy · 21/11/2018 18:37

They put the numbing cream on him but ended up taking blood where he wasn't numb 🙄 but they got it on 1st try so I'm thankful for that. He won't let me out of his sight now

OP posts:
CoperCabana · 21/11/2018 18:43

Oh bless his little heart. Poor you and him. Flowers wishing you all the very best for tomorrow.

Haggisfish · 21/11/2018 18:44

Oh it’s horrible. Keeping everything crossed it’s just a bruise.
