Middle aged man with no hobbies. Not into 'foodie' type gifts, already owns too many clothes. I'm at a complete loss this year. What are you all buying your OH's?

@SleepNGrow

That really is quite a cheap piece of kit, don’t expect great things. Anything it does do should be considered as a bonus. Could well be quite fragile.

SleepNGrow · 20/11/2018 16:44

It's ok @MaxTeyon DH and the DC will have a lot of fun with it. The reviews seem good.
We're saving for a house so neither of us will spend a lot.

Kemer2018 · 20/11/2018 16:48

22 years and he doesn't need stuff.
I get him driving days which he loves.
For his birthday i got indoor skydiving and he'd love to do it again.
I'm on the lookout for another experience. He's fearless so anything goes.

weegiemum · 20/11/2018 16:54

Books
A cd
Socks (he likes really expensive ones from FatFace so I always get him some)
A clock/thermometer for his shed (he got the potting shed in June as part of a garage conversion and I think he's going to spend quite a bit of time in there come spring, he's very excited by it).
Our main present to each other is a weekend away at a lovely foodie hotel that we love. Haven't booked it yet, must get round to doing that!

Knowivedonewrong · 20/11/2018 16:57

If he uses an iPad what about a personalised iPad cover, photos of you/ kids.

thereisnorinbath · 20/11/2018 19:03

@Holidayshopping we have this Delonghi coffee maker and it's been brilliant. Must have had it 5 or 6 years now. We use it with beans; took a couple of attempts to get the setting right for a good strong espresso, but really impressed with what it makes. Great frothing too.

Ragwort · 20/11/2018 19:09

Nothing, we just buy something either for the house or a meal out, after 30 years together and a comfortable life style there is genuinely nothing that either of us want or need. I am rather frugal so I really don’t appreciate ‘Luxury’ type gifts. I like charity type gifts and thank you for the reminder Don’t, we have lost a few loved ones over the years and they were cared for so well by Hospices, I will make a donation in their memory.

Vicsleighbob · 20/11/2018 19:50

Thanks everyone, some great ideas (although you've made me realise my DH must be a boring old fart 😂). I especially like the charity ideas. It's so easy to forget charity at Christmas.

Right, off to online shop now..... ☕️

We just get each other something silly max price £10. Last year I got him a dog poo bag holder to clip on his belt.

IrisApfelRocks · 20/11/2018 19:54

Jeffery West studio 54 boots ( he has better shoes than me 😂)
Aeropress, he is really into coffee and has been making noises about this
A bottle of Kraken rum and some beers
Molecule, he layers it with creed
Socks/pants, never gets them if I don't. I usually get Happy socks or Duchamp

@Dontsweatthelittlestuff I am so sorry for your loss. I will make a donation this year. You are absolutely right hospices do indeed get overlooked x

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 20/11/2018 20:21

Mine is very difficult to buy for.
He says all he wants is a happy wife and kids ... I can't wrap that up!!!!!

He works away from home so booking nights away is out as he tells me he likes sleeping in his own bed sometimes Smile

He has a December birthday too (after Christmas) Confused

This year I've him the Doombar box gift, it's a bottle of the beer with a lovely glass. He's having two, one for xmas and one for his birthday, he can take one glass to his flat.

Getting him membership to Brooklands and he's asked for a jetwasher

Mandatory box of wine gums

I think he'll like an off road driving lesson so will look into that too.

BetterEatCheese · 20/11/2018 20:24

I'm doing DP a stocking full of useful bits for the year e.g. razors, deodorants, socks, scent etc, plus a nice lap tray ... need some more ideas

Fridaydreamer · 20/11/2018 20:24

Watch
T-shirt
Haribo giant strawberry’s - kilo box Grin

JustAskingForAFriend · 20/11/2018 20:30

Nothing. We decided not to buy for each other this Yr as its baby's 1st Xmas. 1st Yr we've got dsd for Xmas too. So we've gone all out for them. The whoke day will be for them.. Plus weve recently had all new stuff so nothing we want or need.

PlatypusPie · 20/11/2018 21:25

I’m glad I read this - something a PP wrote reminded me of a passing remark my DD made earlier in the year about a show he’d like to see at the beginning of 2019. I had completely forgotten about it.

Two of the last few tickets nabbed - dodgy moment when he came up to our v small home office when I was printing out the e-ticket. Had to sort of drape myself across the tray so that he couldn’t see what was printing out. Phew !

BluebellCockleshell123 · 20/11/2018 21:30

Mr Cockleshell is getting the deep fat fryer that he's been desperate for all year (and that I have been poo-pooing)

Also a gym t-shirt and a nice bottle of wine. Still thinking of a few more little things.

blackteasplease · 20/11/2018 21:34

A tee shirt or hoodie from #themanwhohasitall

Eliza9917 · 20/11/2018 22:08

My ideas so far are:

Stocking presents:
A Mr Men mug saying Mr Perfect Grin
Chocolate coins.
Toffifees.

Small presents:
Loungey pajamas.
Tickets to a show he wants to see.
Maybe a nice dressy coat.

Big present:
A tablet, though I don't know what one yet. The iPad is on its way out.

Tisfortired · 20/11/2018 22:24

Mine is getting a couple of smart new tops, probably Fred Perry polos (because every time we go out he 'has nothing to wear'... well yes you won't if you never buy yourself clothes!!)

A toastie maker, the spider man PS4 game, fancy coffee, gin, beard oil.

DragonFire99 · 20/11/2018 22:26

Food hamper
Gig tickets
Festival tickets
Day out tickets
Meal voucher to fav restaurant

DroningOn · 20/11/2018 22:28

Mahabis slippers, quite indulgent for slippers but really nice and not something that he'd buy for himself which I think should be prezzie rule #1

Purpletigers · 20/11/2018 22:29

Wine gums

Purpletigers · 20/11/2018 22:30

And alpaca wool socks .

SunburstsOrMarbleHalls · 20/11/2018 22:34

Tickets to see his football team
A leather strap for his Fitbit blaze (last years present)
Comfy lounge type clothes for when he travels with work - not sure what yet.
Aftershave
Some golf related bits and bobs

bert3400 · 20/11/2018 22:41

Nothing, we save the money and have a child free weekend away. My parents babysit ( that is our Christmas present from them). Why buy more stuff that no body needs, our planet is polluted enough
