So I’m on my own tomorrow night and I’m really looking forward to it!

Planning on drinking wine in the bath with my new book, and then cooking myself a nice dinner and watching tv in my pjs.

So looking for nice dinner ideas please Grin what’s everyone’s favourite?

lamb shank with mash and green veg then a chocolate or lemon tart!

pickingdaisies · 15/11/2018 18:50

Easy and delicious, spaghetti carbonara. Not healthy though, does that matter? (You can always throw some rocket leaves at itGrin)

ElizavetaBathory · 15/11/2018 18:50

If you are feeling really lazy, Cook's coq au vin is delicious. I eat the one that is meant to be for two people Smile

RoboticSealpup · 15/11/2018 18:50

Pork loin with hasselbackspotatoes. Yum.

00100001 · 15/11/2018 18:51

sod cooking. get a ready posh meal or takeaway

EmmaGeddon · 15/11/2018 18:52

Twice baked jacket potatoes with grated mature cheddar and a massive tomato and basil salad.

SimplyPut · 15/11/2018 18:52

I love something that's both a treat and quick!
Favourites are steak, buttery roasted tomatoes and a glass of fizz or prawn pilpil with sourdough to mop up the yummy oil... oh and a glass of fizz 😉.

freddiemercury · 15/11/2018 18:53

Higgidy chicken leek and bacon pie... with mash and peas.... gu chocolate pot... enjoy....xxx

Squirrelblanket · 15/11/2018 18:53

If I'm on my own I like a baked camembert with crusty bread for dipping.

Fooferella · 15/11/2018 18:54

Teriyaki salmon with courgetti. [http://happiness-is-homemade.com/2017/02/13/teriyaki-salmon/]
It's a Joe wick lean in 15 recipe but you wouldn't know it's 'healthy' and it's super quick and easy. I made it the other night and almost orgasmed it was so good.
Have a great evening.

Fooferella · 15/11/2018 18:55

Sorry, click link didn't work.

QuilliamCakespeare · 15/11/2018 18:55

M&S spicy nudja tomato sauce with spinach and ricotta ravioli, garlic bread, and cold white wine.

OR

teriyaki salmon and noodles. Also with wine

SaucyJack · 15/11/2018 19:00

Honestly? If I was on my own with no kids watching, I’d have a Bombay Bad Boy pot noodle with a side “salad” of Wotsits and Frazzles.

I might stretch to some baked Camembert if there was a legal requirement to turn the oven on, but that’s it.

Oh, and some giant buttons for afters.

GreedyBastard · 15/11/2018 19:03

scrap the lamb idea that i gave before go for loads of naice breads and dips, olives sundried tomatoes, stuffed peppers.

Or better still get a takeaway.

Stubbornuincorn · 15/11/2018 19:04

I hadn’t even considered a starter but baked camenbert is now on my list!

Zoflorabore · 15/11/2018 19:25

It's got to be pizza op Grin

Zoflorabore · 15/11/2018 19:26

My apologies! You seen you said "nice" oops. Mine would be a creamy chicken pasta with dough balls. And a crunchy salad to be healthy also to allow for a big bag of malteser buttons

anothernameagain000 · 15/11/2018 19:28

Honestly if you’re on your own it’s got to be minimum effort or a takeaway.

NoSpend19 · 15/11/2018 19:30

another vote for baked camembert. Id just eat the whole thing with a glass of wine. No need for a further course!

ItsClemFandangoCanYouHearMe · 15/11/2018 19:32

Beef Wellington, roasties, green beans and gravy 🤤

Jellybabie3 · 15/11/2018 19:34

Defo takeaway. Whatever you cant usually have without negotiating. For me its indian with all the sides as DH wont eat spicy food. I always had (aka pre baby) a pre Christmas 'me night' with bath, white wine, indian, and buttons. Mmmmm. Hungry now.

Enjoy OP.

Nacreous · 15/11/2018 19:34

My favourite "posh" dinner is butternut squash baked with cumin, on a green salad with prosciutto, parmesan and toasted pine nuts, drizzled with balsamic vinegar.

EmmaGeddon · 15/11/2018 19:35

God, I'm sooooooooooo bloody hungry now Grin

AdaColeman · 15/11/2018 19:35

Something quick and easy, fillet steak or shallow fried sea bass with mixed leaf salad.
Ice cream with a spoon or two of liqueur poured over for pudding.

Glumglowworm · 15/11/2018 19:40

One of Sainsbury’s posh ready meals is a beef and ale hash, it’s beef and potatoes and it’s absolutely lovely

Followed by M&S banoffee cheesecake slices

I can cook but I’m lazy!
