I am not in the UK. I do sympathise with the Brexit disaster unfolding, I know people in the UK have much bigger concerns for their economy, than the NI border and GFA.

I am horrified the DUP were invited in. They are nasty poison bastards and I fear they will not agree to anything because it makes things different in NI. They do not care about cross border business, or fighting, as long as there the same as the UK. It is all a nightmare.
I watched a few clips on YouTube of Pop goes Northern Ireland of different stages during the troubles. It is very good, for anyone unaware of the fighting in NI.

A couple of senior civil servants, with close connections to the DUP, and free Masons, have recently tried to get mid managers, and lowers sacked as they criticised the DUP persecution of gay community, wait for it .... on a personal social media account !!! I could go on but I won't. These are politicians for dark ages. Instead they are controlling the UK government ! Really there is justification for corruption of public office. Some of them should be in gaol, not influencing the government. They have superinjunctions that any *fiddler would kill for. Just to protect the reputation of one of their members. Lovely lot they are. What a world we live in. Feels like we are going back in time.

What I meant was that it seems like the division of Ireland causes bigotry of this nature to emerge. I was shocked when I was walking around Belfast at how deliberately aggressive, provocative and bigoted some of the Protestant neighbourhoods felt. They were spaces of wall-to-wall shit stirring. Absolutely shameful way to coexist with your fellow people. I felt that Britain was somehow contributing to it by giving them this superior, dominant political status and that the sooner that was removed, the better.

(The Catholic neighbourhoods weren't without their issues, clearly, but I didn't feel the same waves of hatred and deliberate provocation from them somehow. It's hard to put into words).

I just don't think it's as simple as giving NI back to us in the Republic anymore, as much as I would love a united Ireland I think its too late for that and I think it would only further the divide in NI.

Sorry we've caused such a fucking problem for you all but maybe if the British Govt and people had taken a few seconds to consider the bloody obvious problem regarding NI and Brexit we wouldn't be in this mess?

For the record, I absolutely detest the DUP (and Sinn Fein, and anyone else who puts a flag on their propaganda!) It's a pity we weren't shown enough respect to have a NI Secretary with an ounce of knowledge about NI appointed so we could get our own Government up and running again and maybe we could vote these bastards out. I've little doubt that both the DUP and Sinn Fein have frustrated voters enough to lose votes since the collapse - health and education are a shit show here right now. Oh to have Mo Mowlam back!
