I am not in the UK. I do sympathise with the Brexit disaster unfolding, I know people in the UK have much bigger concerns for their economy, than the NI border and GFA.

I am horrified the DUP were invited in. They are nasty poison bastards and I fear they will not agree to anything because it makes things different in NI. They do not care about cross border business, or fighting, as long as there the same as the UK. It is all a nightmare.
I watched a few clips on YouTube of Pop goes Northern Ireland of different stages during the troubles. It is very good, for anyone unaware of the fighting in NI.

The DUP have the views they have because they are elected by people of the UK with those views. So I don't find it very nice to imply in the op that N.Irish people are w*ers and somehow aren't entitled to be democratically represented without being abused.

This country is a basket case. No executive, no budgets being signed off. Tribal politics is the very essence of failure here.
I honestly despair for my children and I. The opportunities are few and far between for growth. Money has been spent on programmes to reduce barriers here. Be almost impossible to measure their efficacy.

I would currently consider them to be vocal on both issues. It was Alliance under David Ford who tabled the amendment to the Abortion Act, and Naomi Long has been openly in support of change, although it’s a matter of conscience as it is for all parties here except Greens (SF may have recently changed stance though).

And I’m not sure what you mean by mealy mouthed in relation to equal marriage but Alliance have also marched at the last two March for Marriage Equality that Ive been at, and Naomi Long has written to Karen Bradley asking that Westminster legislate for equal marriage. In 2015 the party told its members to vote in favour of same sex marriage.
The UUP decided to let party members vote on conscience last time, perhaps that is what you are thinking of?

I do think they deserve respect because they represent people of the UK. I dont agree with them just as I dont agree with Sinn Fein or Labour but I definitely think they have the right to be heard without abuse.

Have you read the thread, I do not believe all the people that elect them share their views at all. I did not intend to describe NI people as wankers. I lived there for years. Found it really friendly and welcoming.

I think Happy Hour has started early for @shakethatass. Agree with PP's who have said that the choice on election day is not great and people usually end up voting "strategically", ie if we vote DUP we keep out SF and vice versa. Sad but true.
