Posting for traffic as general health isn't helping!!

This may be too much information but I don't know how to get advice without giving the details! I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a tingling/buzzing in their nipples that could be a sign of menopause or pre menopause along with sore boobs. I have only had experience of it in pregnancy and I refuse to go there! My last period was only a day of oldish looking blood(sorry I said tmi) and then last week I had a few days of just a little blood when I wiped but nothing more. I am hoping this is all a sign I am heading to menopause and nothing more scary. Any ideas (apart from the unmentionable because I refuse to acknowledge that)

My exact pregnancy symptom....

Conseulabananahammock · 13/11/2018 22:04

To be fair, im only assuming that my boob tingles and aches are linked to hormones. My bras have started feeling tighter randomly too so who knows. Im guessing by the post tone that your not keen on the P word, so hopefully it is just hormones.

NameChangeToAvoidBeingFound · 13/11/2018 22:08

Good luck. My mam had her 1st baby at 18 and then me at 42. My sisters were 24, 21, 19 and 16 when I was born. She thought she was going through the menopause as well 😂

Carbsnomarbs · 13/11/2018 22:10

Blatant place marking. POAS

olderthanyouthink · 13/11/2018 22:10

Fingers crossed it's nothing at all worrying OP

ItsJustSuchAFaff · 13/11/2018 22:13

Why does anyone who has any symptom relating to pg NEVER have a test at home and always refuse to go out?!

Op I hope you get the result you want when you do POAS Flowers

There are NICE guidelines for irregular bleeding in women over forty,so do please go to your GP just to be on the safe side

Really?

I’m over 40 with irregular bleeding. No one gave half a fuck.

KitKat1985 · 13/11/2018 22:13

I'm afraid I'm joining in the POAS chorus.

It could be the menopause, but you need to exclude the obvious alternative first.

One of my friends had her third baby unexpectedly at 47 and also thought it was the menopause

VisitorsEntrance · 13/11/2018 22:14

Oh and POAS.
Come on. I’m infertile and I have a test or two tucked away.

ThatOneHurt · 13/11/2018 22:14

'Due on' symptoms for me are the same as pregnancy symptoms so I don't see why menopausal symptoms can't be similar to pregnancy symptoms as well.
Although you don't say how old you are, 40 would be very early for the menopause and 49 would make it more likely.

Best of luck with the stick.

Also just remembered, when I took the mini pill it used to make my nipples burn and breasts hurt so much I nearly cried. Fuck awful pill. Again, all hormones definitely wasn't pregnant.

cochineal7 · 13/11/2018 22:15

Sounds familiar here too. I am almost 50. He is now 4.

PussGirl · 13/11/2018 22:18

Tingly nipples with a short period - sounds like pregnancy to me too.

sayitisntsojo · 13/11/2018 22:18

@ThatOneHurt I am almost 42. I don't have a test at home because my last pregnancy was over a decade ago and I was done with having babies so having a test hanging around to go out of date seems completely pointless.

Joining the 'I-had-my-last-at-42' club. Somewhat to my surprise. Which was really rather embarrassing at that age and with three others.

The reassurance thing isn't really happening, is it...?

ThanosSavedMe · 13/11/2018 22:21

Good luck!

sayitisntsojo · 13/11/2018 22:22

@MrsFamily not really no!!! God I'm sure I'm not but I don't know who would be more embarrassed by the news, me or my 17 year old. The kids will know we did the deed!!!!

PetuliaBlavatsky · 13/11/2018 22:23

I'm early 40s and have been peri-menopausal for several years already so it's not that unusual. I've never had any tingling or buzzing nipples as a symptom though. It's also pretty well-known for women to think they are menopausal when they are actually pregnant - my mum is a 'menopause baby' born when my granny was 48!
There's only one way to find out. Good luck, I hope you get the answer you want

Bluemascara4 · 13/11/2018 22:27

Good luck for tomorrow x

MrsFamily · 13/11/2018 22:28

Fortunately, my eldest was 8 at the time (now 11), so we didn't have that to contend with.

I still cringe at the knowing way the children's HT asked me if it was a surprise though. I think my general aura of shell-shock rendered that particular question somewhat redundant but clearly she didn't.

You are going to update us tomorrow, aren't you? I do hope there's nothing amiss.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 13/11/2018 22:31

Its probably the menopause. Hormone fluctuations are the cause. Goodluck if you POAS.
