How much do you earn per anum before tax? What is your current position/job/career? Do you enjoy it?

OP posts:
LunaLovesgood · 12/11/2018 12:22

Hate my job with a passion. Small business import/export and admin at £20k.
Desperately looking for something new if anyone needs me Grin

LunaLovesgood · 12/11/2018 12:23

Hate the company that is, not the actual job. I love the organising and challenge of moving things around the world with short notice and tight time constraints m.

Whitescarf · 12/11/2018 12:25

Nurse on 23k, I love it just wish the pay was better

Hellohah · 12/11/2018 12:28

Just over £26k, admin.
I like my job, but I hate my boss.

KanielOutis · 12/11/2018 12:34

Local government office role. £25k. Ok job, great people. Very stressful and not much room for progression. Good flexi policy and decent pension. Weighted up, I'll be there until the children are grown up.

Notthatsimple · 12/11/2018 12:35

Chartered surveyor. Been qualified for 6 years. £43k plus a £4k car allowance which I don't spend on a car

Notthatsimple · 12/11/2018 12:37

Oh sorry, do I enjoy it... I probably "enjoy" 25% of the work, the people I work with are generally a nice bunch, and I can't imagine much of a better work/life balance.

BlueUggs · 12/11/2018 12:38

@Whitescarf - how long have you been qualified? Look at healthcare jobs in custody - still nursing but the pay starts at £34k.....

PurpleWithRed · 12/11/2018 12:41

3/day week I earn £15,600. Really enjoy it - it's semi retirement for me, uses the skills I built up in the commercial world over a long career (and earned 4x for!) but in a more worthwhile area. They are delighted to have someone with such a lot of experience and skill for the money. All good.

ilovesooty · 12/11/2018 12:53

Why do you want to know?

cantthinkofausernamee · 12/11/2018 12:54

Dental nurse- £30,000. Hard to negotiate hard for that though

Seeyounexttue · 12/11/2018 12:55

Owner of a fitness class/personal training company. Pre tax I draw a salary of £50k, but there have been some very lean years to get to this point. Love my job!

cantthinkofausernamee · 12/11/2018 12:55

Had too* very stressful job where I do about 6 peoples jobs. Am moving soon it's too much. Would rather work in hospital where the work for a Dental nurse is much much easier and the pay is less but so worth it

Thiswayorthatway · 12/11/2018 12:56

Lawyer, 95k, love it

Teatimeted · 12/11/2018 12:59

Marketing. £45k. I like it about 80% of the time and have worked hard to get to this point.

arethereanyleftatall · 12/11/2018 13:00

Own business, swim school. About £5k per year, but only work 4 hours per week term time only. About £50 per hour. I love it.

puzzledlady · 12/11/2018 13:01

PR - maybe about 45k without benefits;bonus etc. Very generous leave and flexible working. I travel a lot though - and that’s not a good thing as I have young children.

insanitypack · 12/11/2018 13:01

Around 40k with bonus - EA in Mayfair for a property development company. Hate it because this particular company is so badly organised!

BlaaBlaaBlaa · 12/11/2018 13:02

Senior lecturer at a university. On £45k and about mid way through the pay scale so I'll get increments for another 4 years.
Love my job

RaininSummer · 12/11/2018 13:02

Teaching 19,100 per year - private agency - no pay rises at all for past 4 years!

Intheprimeoflime · 12/11/2018 13:03

Self employed piano teacher £8/9k. Enjoy it for the most part

ileclerc · 12/11/2018 13:04

How much do you earn op?

CampingAddiction · 12/11/2018 13:05

Part time admin work in Finance 20 hrs per week. £11,500.

Bestseller · 12/11/2018 13:05

I'm a business manager for a group of five schools. It's very varied (basically if it's not teaching it falls to me) and can be frustrating because of the conflicting demands and the budget restrictions (although tbh we're OK atm) but I love it. I earn £40k, term time plus 3 weeks.

As its very close to home and I'm home by 4-4:30 pm daily, I'm more than happy with that.

I earned more in my previous career in corporate finance but this is better in every other way

YourMilkshakeIsBetterThanMine · 12/11/2018 13:06

£0 at the moment. I don't bring in a penny but I like my current position better than my previous one. I've spent the morning baking with my toddler which is nicer than teaching.
