How much do you earn per anum before tax? What is your current position/job/career? Do you enjoy it?

45k, associate director in a market research agency, I really enjoy the work but it can be stressful - small team means it's all hands on deck if we have a peak on work. 25 days holiday but zero additional benefits which is a bit shit given I'm going to be on mat leave soon...

Mumof1DS · 12/11/2018 13:12

£31k, solicitor. Could earn better elsewhere, but I have a good work-life balance where I am.

jarviscockerslover · 12/11/2018 13:14

58k international recruitment officer at a University. I love my job but lots of travel which although I personally love it, can be tricky to manage with a small child

Alfie190 · 12/11/2018 13:20

At the moment £0 as I decided to go back to university this year. Previously just over £100k as an accountant.

RiverTam · 12/11/2018 13:20

who are you and why are you asking?

WeeBeasties · 12/11/2018 13:21

42K plus bonus- Senior Project Manager. I enjoy it most of the time but can be stressfull.

YearOfYouRemember · 12/11/2018 13:24

😂

LifesABeachCoaster · 12/11/2018 13:24

Admin supervisor 22k

Didthatreallyhappen2 · 12/11/2018 13:25

Why?

Shushstick · 12/11/2018 13:25

£0. And it's hard from being the main breadwinner very stressful own business 7 day weeks to earning zilch. SAHM but this is much harder than any job and I can vouch for that. You never get to walk away from the work!

Thehop · 12/11/2018 13:25

I work in a nursery. I’m very well qualified but earn minimum wage, and I’m 40. It’s not a career known for its salary.

LaurieFairyCake · 12/11/2018 13:27

Self employed. £4K a month. My 'ceiling' will be about £5,500 so almost at capacity.

blueshoes · 12/11/2018 13:27

who are you and why are you asking?

This

WitchesHatRim · 12/11/2018 13:28

How about you go first OP?

lovetherisingsun · 12/11/2018 13:29

About £700. Once all the children are in fulltime education I can dedicate fulltime to it. Right now it just ticks by whilst I wait. I used to be on £20k pa, working 8-6, some weeknds and bank holidays. Long, hard hours, stressfull, shit. But it was the best available in an area of very low paid but high hour jobs. Would have loved to have had a "career".

Minniemagoo · 12/11/2018 13:30

Coordinator for technical projects, 40k. Flexible hours/leave and WFH as required, office 15mins from home. Could earn more in a larger company but would lose the flexibility which I need as DD2 is autistic and Dh is in a much higher paid role but has to travel/less flexible.

StaySafe · 12/11/2018 13:31

£36k, care manager. It is a nice place to work, the buddhist in me thinks "good livlihood" is met and it is a short journey to work. I used to earn a lot more (lawyer) but that meant nights and weekends were involved and i'd more content with my weekends free. Now the children have flown the nest and the mortgage is nearly paid off I'm happier in this role than my old one.

Eliza9917 · 12/11/2018 13:31

I like my job. I'm a document controller. Its well paid for the area, London money but out in Kent.

The position I'm in at the moment isn't like my previous roles. I normally deal with design & build new build or refurb projects but this project is different and all the things I'd normally deal with are done by others so most of the day I haven't really got anything to do. I produce a few reports but they aren't really needed. I do the odd bit of printing. I'm bored tbh.

The project is coming to an end soon and it will get busy with archiving everything and wrapping up but I had an interview on Friday for a job in a different construction dept and it sounds really exciting, busy all day, good procedures etc. I'm waiting to hear whether I got it and I hope they make a decision today.

mostdays · 12/11/2018 13:32

Just under £30k, social worker, yes.

ezeria · 12/11/2018 13:39

I make 18k. My job is ok, but it's not what I want to do forever. I'm on maternity leave and hoping to study and for a career change. I'd like something with relatively high earning potential so I'm curious as to what people earn and whether they enjoy their job. I am trying to decide what path to take.

OKhitmewithit · 12/11/2018 13:40

£95k part time. I'm very lucky, but also very qualified and an expert in my field.

overagain · 12/11/2018 13:42

£32K social worker with older adults. Love my job but it's never going to be well paid, but I do have a good work life balance.

Givemeallyourcucumber · 12/11/2018 13:43

£0 and I would like it to stay that way for another 5 years. Then I will have to get my arse in gear and actually go to work Shock
I can't imagine working again at the moment. But times change.

KitKat1985 · 12/11/2018 13:45

Full-time charge nurse on a ward at 31k a year, but I do get a bit extra each year (usually 1-2k extra a year) for unsociable hours enhancements / weekend working.

I have good work colleagues in the main but it's a stressful job. I'm very lucky though in that my work let me compress my hours into 3 days a week, and one of those days is always at the weekend when DH is home, so I only have to pay for nursery for our 2 DDs two days a week, which is a massive bonus.

IT - 100k+
