How much do you earn per anum before tax? What is your current position/job/career? Do you enjoy it?

OP posts:

Love my job, finally found a lovely company within the sector! Always thought would enjoy being a Town Planner but took moving out of working fir the big house builders to make it a reality. I am part time, 3 days a week earning £19k + bonuses.

PMSwithacockinmydress · 12/11/2018 13:50

@ezeria What do you currently do?

flamingofridays · 12/11/2018 13:50

20k (in Yorkshire for reference)

I do export for a local company. I do enjoy it but wish it paid more, however its cheap to live up here so its fine really.

the company is fab so I will probably never leave!

LittleKitty1985 · 12/11/2018 13:50

£50k, I'm a teacher (& head of 2 departments) in central London. I do love my job, but I'm also really looking forward to giving up full time teaching for a few years - I'm going on maternity leave in February and then will be returning part time (£30k for 3 days work suits me nicely!)

lotsoffreckles · 12/11/2018 13:51

£43k + quarterly bonus of about £2.5k per quarter for 4 days. I work in advertising in London

Pomfluff · 12/11/2018 13:52

Self-employed (online business) / 150K - 250K per year
Started out 12yrs ago as a web designer so my work was always quite geeky/tech related, and was incredibly lucky to have found a niche in social media & online marketing when that market took off a few years ago.

AppleScoop · 12/11/2018 13:53

£60k for 3 days/week. Marketing consultancy.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 12/11/2018 13:54

20k university admin. It's ok, not very exciting but ok.

IVFNewbie · 12/11/2018 13:56

IT related sales. Last year, 140k. I like it and get to do it from home mostly too. Probably will earn a bit less this year.

arethereanyleftatall · 12/11/2018 13:57

95% of this thread earn over £40k pro rata.

So, either mumsnet has a higher wage demographic, or the £26k national average is a pile of nonsense as it includes part time workers.

Bestseller · 12/11/2018 13:59

I think maybe the more you earn the more flexibility/autonomy you have to be on MN during the day!

Waitresses etc aren't mnetting while they're supposed to be working

Gemini69 · 12/11/2018 14:01

£36K a year... I work one week on/one week off (Scotland)

I LOVE my job

strawberrisc · 12/11/2018 14:05

Am good at managing my (little) money but actually don't know what my salary is. I really don't. I'm pretty number dyslexic.

arethereanyleftatall · 12/11/2018 14:06

True re waitressing, but I personally have never been asked how many hours a week I work to get to my £5k pa. thus, my £5k is probably included in the making of the £26k per year average salary stats. Which does put a different slant on it.

LucieMorningstar · 12/11/2018 14:07

@PMSwithacockinmydress

Journalist possibly? 🧐

PerditaMacleod · 12/11/2018 14:08

£57k + bonus, in quite a niche area of HR. Yes I do enjoy it, the money is good for what is actually involved, and there is a great emphasis on work life balance where I am.

LunaLovesgood · 12/11/2018 14:09

@flamingofridays have you got any jobs going..? Wink

Or some people are telling porkies.,...

MaryShelley1818 · 12/11/2018 14:12

18.5k for 3 days a week.
I work for Children’s Services and absolutely love my job and most of the people I work with.

Unobtainable · 12/11/2018 14:18

We could guide you more if you told us what your strengths, skills and experience are to date. Do you drive? Are you outgoing? Are you technically minded?

Tarahumara · 12/11/2018 14:21

£21.6k, but I work 0.5 so FTE would be £43.2.
University lecturer - I really enjoy it.

flamingofridays · 12/11/2018 14:21

@lunalovesgood at the minute I am a department of 1 so unless I leave unfortunately not haha!

flirtygirl · 12/11/2018 14:21

Mumsnet does have a higher wage demographic. This is well known.

I don't think most people tell lies on these type of threads. There is quite a difference in just 3 pages.

Also the op asked a question, either answer it or not, what's with all the people asking why and are you a journalist?

DerelictWreck · 12/11/2018 14:21

£45k as a full time project manager. Love my job and people but the organisation can be hard work!

Tarahumara · 12/11/2018 14:22

I expect MN does have a higher wage demographic. It's a fairly middle class website IMO.
