To still be cross at Jeremy Corbin's anorak

It's 11 hours after the event, but at the cenotaph amongst all of the black coats stood Jeremy Corbin in a blue anorak with hood flapping, is this really the best he could do?

Don’t give up the day job Grin

Michael Rosen has written this poem on the subject. Michael Rosen and Jeremy Corbyn Separated at Birth.

Hmm. Why is it that only Corbynista are capable of doing 'proper research' - in the Canary? the Morning Star? - and thinking for themselves? And anyone who disagrees with them must be a dupe of the right-wing media?

How about you rebutting some of the points pps have made about Corbyn's predilection for supporting terrorists and autocratic regimes?

BertrandRussell · 15/11/2018 15:27

"How about you rebutting some of the points pps have made about Corbyn's predilection for supporting terrorists and autocratic regimes?"
He doesn't support terrorists. Like many people he supports causes which have some extremely unsavoury fellow travellers. A bit like Theresa May and her "support" for the Saudi Arabian government.

RedRoseReb · 15/11/2018 15:31

A back bench MP has far more autonomy when choosing people to host a tea party for than a sitting prime minister.

yesyouareyouare · 15/11/2018 15:38

I think he looked fine. If he was wearing a tracksuit you might have a point.

happinessischocolate · 15/11/2018 16:17

I agree that some elements of the media can be very petty about JC - so why did he provide them with an easy target

So save them from making up bullshit? Unfortunately there's people that still believe the bullshit that's written about him months after it was proven to be untrue so if they pick on a ridiculous thing like him have a raincoat on it's less damaging in the long run???

Or maybe he just didn't want to get wet. He doesn't go round in limos like the rest of them he often gets the tube or rides his bike 😂 waits for the anti Corbyns to say he didn't ride his bike on Sunday

LassWiADelicateAir · 15/11/2018 17:42

Limensoda
It was a deliberate choice to flout convention

You spoke to him then?

He knows what the conentional dress code is. I'm assuming Jeremy Corbyn is capable of dressing himself and chooses his own clothes. Do you think he might have accidentally fallen into an anorak? Or did his mum force him to wear it?

Vicky1990 · 15/11/2018 18:17

You can only take Corbyn somewhere twice, the second time to apologise for the first time.
The only one on parade in the eyes of the world to look like a dodgy used car salesman.

BertrandRussell · 15/11/2018 18:42

The fact that people are still talking about Michael Foot’s “donkey jacket” means that whatever Corbyn had worn the media would have put the boot in about it.

Criticise his leadership, his party, his manifesto- the personal stuff is just tedious.

LassWiADelicateAir · 15/11/2018 19:04

No they wouldn't. If he had worn a tailored, black overcoat, like every other civilian present, no one would have said anything.

It's part of his leadership style - which is vain and inept.

Limensoda · 15/11/2018 19:20

@LassWiADelicateAir

Being silly aren't you?.....
The intention was questioned...not that he didn't choose to put his bloody coat on...

KissingInTheRain · 15/11/2018 19:29

In fairness Bertrand his fans haven’t been slow to defend him (and his anorak seems quite capable of defending itself).

Generally, as I think you know full well, what the Corbynistas really hate is not criticism of the Magic Grandad (hat tip HauntedPencil) but mockery.

It’s always that way with religion and cults. So it is with the Church of Jeremy Corbyn of Latter Day Saints.

SillySallySingsSongs · 15/11/2018 19:49

the personal stuff is just tedious.

Well the blame for that can be laid squarely at Milne and his team and Momentum. They make it all about the man with the majority of their events and promoting.

You can't then complain when others criticise him.

Limensoda · 15/11/2018 20:13

Do you think he might have accidentally fallen into an anorak? Or did his mum force him to wear it?

No,..... I think he put a coat on with no other thought than it was a fucking coat.

dawnacorns · 15/11/2018 20:22

Well he had enough savvy to put on a suit for PMQs today so he clearly realises you have to dress accordingly in certain situations. I couldn't see an inside out hood poking out the back of his suit, but you never know I guess as I only saw a front view Wink

HauntedPencil · 15/11/2018 20:48

What I wouldn't give for some chaos with Ed Miliband about now.

Everyone made light fun of him and no one acted like this then.

It's only golden boy that should be immune.

LassWiADelicateAir · 15/11/2018 20:52

The intention is obvious. There was a conventional dress code which every single person other than Corbyn followed. The only logical assumption is Corbyn thinks this convention shouldn't apply to him. It's not that he couldn't buy or borrow a proper coat. It's extremely arrogant behaviour.

Limensoda · 15/11/2018 21:36

It's extremely arrogant behaviour

As is assuming you know that his intention was to annoy people.
He wore a suit...and a perfectly acceptable coat that some people believe isn't good enough.

HauntedPencil · 15/11/2018 21:50

There is no way of knowing who is right or wrong about his intentions in wearing said coat.

derxa · 15/11/2018 21:51

coat that some people believe isn't good enough. It wasn't good enough

LassWiADelicateAir · 15/11/2018 22:06

Corbyn chose to wear an anorak which made him stick out from everyone else. He is either too stupid to realise or so vain he thinks he is more important than the other attendees.

It's the same as turning up at any formal event which has a dress code but refusing to abide by the dress code. It is sheer arrogance to act as if you have a special dispensation.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 15/11/2018 22:22

Corbyn ignoring the dress code is probably the most noticeable thing he has done this week

That says everything about his leadership as he certainly isn’t providing any alternative to May’s Brexit plans

derxa · 15/11/2018 22:26

That says everything about his leadership as he certainly isn’t providing any alternative to May’s Brexit plans He's a ranting eejit. PS He doesn't believe in Remain

Momasita · 15/11/2018 22:30

Is it corbyn unique way of signaling he doesn't support it?
