@shriek I am all for debate, but it is what the TRAs are most afraid of. They have had women's meeting shut down, women have been threatened. I have complained myself to the labour party and been told " yeah, and what?" . We live in very scary times when a lie is the truth and peoples self belief is dependent upon society lying to them.

Things are getting ridiculous now. Are we really going to have to label separate toilets/changing rooms/etc as being for 'penis owners' or 'non-penis owners' to protect women who do not feel comfortable with 100% biological males (whatever they identify as) using their spaces? Because the terms 'man' and 'woman' are not politically correct anymore?

It’s polarising the genders. If you aren’t girly enough then you must really be a boy. Not boyish enough? You must be a girl. Any child who doesn’t fit into the box is also being moulded online by some really biased organisations. Also the lack of power as a parent to challenge these assumptions is scary.

What will happen in the long term future? There’ll be no need for a LGBT community because L & G will all have been remoulded into the opposite gender. And there’ll be a generation of infertile, unhappy people who would have naturally grown up not to be trans.

No because that would be transphobic. If a woman is uncomfortable she is clearly a bigot who needs to be "re-educated" (maybe in a gulag as suggested by one TRA, they were great places apparently). If she still feels uncomfortable well, so what, she needs to get over it. What's more important is that the feelings of a male are validated.

That's the current thinking anyway.

I am not a menstruator, I am a woman, I am not the same as a man, for whom a woman's period is a biological impossibility. As hard as it is for those really hating their body, for being dysphoric for them, its a hard fact to have to be resigned to. It just is. I didn't evocle the world, its works as it is, because it works, because it evolved.
There will be diminishing future generations if this rate of chemical sterility continues exponentially.

Yes @shriek I read that thread. Research shows that most children presenting as trans will revert back to their own gender if they aren’t medicalised. It’s usually due to finding their sexuality and also the huge changes the teenage brain goes through. Once they start the hormone route they hardly ever Detransition. So if left to their own devices to start puberty naturally only a very small percentage would continue on a trans pathway.

The desire to ‘pass’ as female seems to be pushing early meds and the hugely inflated (made up) stats of suicide.

Also the sheer online profile of the trans community must be influencing kids. There was a thread earlier about an article from Th e Sun saying it was the new trend amongst teenagers. It’s cool to be trans.

My son is ASD and has had sever identity issues. At 15 he confessed to feeling totally suicidal on the 22nd December. We spent that festive period on suicide watch as the NHS pretty much shuts down. He was referred to a gender specialist psychologist and after two appointments was offered hormones as he felt like he may be a woman in quite a few ways. I said no. I went shopping. Bought eye liner, and other bits and bobs, some slightly feminine but not girly tops and some naice hair stuff ( he already had long hair). I paid for private psychotherapy and we lived on beans and toast. we found a new college age 17 after his first year ended again, with him on suicide watch. We finally got somebody to prescribe antidepressants ( it was easier to get HORMONES than sertraline as he is ASD). We upped the counselling and threw in specialist tuition in his hobby to help keep him focussed. At 16 we agreed to a name change as he had always hated his name. Thankfully, wonderfully, my beautiful boy is now a happy, confident young man with a lovely boyfriend. BUT if I had let the NHS have their way he would have been on oestrogen before he was on a basic anti depressant.

I have watched a young friend of one of my DC destroy themsleves over this, they are suffering terrible anxiety.
Sometimes I think, seriously, kids need to be completely removed from access to the web unless supervised, in schools.
We went on a 'real' holiday recently. Did lots of 'real' things. We were outside of signal and it has changed her around completely. Away from the continual pressure of online judgement . some have told her she's gay and she's suffered forced gay relations.
For our own kids safety, something needs to be done to stop over-sexualisation of those that are supposed to be protected

84, yes that is 84, children aged 7 AND UNDER were referred to them in a one year period

Can someone please clarify why a transman has to have specialist period equipment or why its not a period, even though it is?
I don't think it's a case of needing specialist equipment but, in the case of LunaPads, it's designing rewashable period pants that look like boxer shorts. It's simply a less feminine-looking product. Not a need but a preference.
