The Christmas markets are up in my town centre now, the Christmas lights are on and several houses near me have got their trees up already! This is very very wrong, we're not even halfway through November!

When does yours go up? Mine goes up on 1st December.

First weekend in December.

My parents didn't do anything till we were in bed on Christmas Eve, as we were often threatened there would be no Christmas if we didn't behave my brothers and I went to bed Christmas Eve wondering if this would be the year there would be no Christmas for us. Fucking sucked!

After my birthday in mid December and not before. The kids are happy with that I'm happy with that.. too much otherwise.

1st of December. It's such a bloody faff getting the tree up and all the lights and decs on it that i want to get my money's worth!
My parents didn't put ours up till after my birthday, a week before Christmas, which was nice of them, but since I've had my own family it goes up earlier.

HippoLatte · 10/11/2018 21:30

Used to be around 4th December but I do love cosy evenings with the tree lit and fire on so have put it up around 25th November the past few years .

Up the weekend nearest the 6th Dec down the weekend nearest 6th Jan. Done it this way for years but now have ads withabirthdayon the 18th Dec and idiot really like putting it up before his b day but I do, itsonly my personal opinion but I don't like seeing trees up in houses before dec

I like ours up for the first so usually the weekend before that/last weekend of November.

Pinkprincess1978 · 15/11/2018 06:37

Ours doesn't come down until after new year. DH doesn't like them up once he is back to work so they usually come down between 2/4th depending on when new year falls.

I have been known to cry when they come down - but that is usually when DH takes them down without telling me! I came down one year looking forward to the last day of enjoyment and he had got up early and taken them down. I was guttered and cried. He has never let me forget it 😂

Talcott2007 · 15/11/2018 06:45

It varies -DH always had a real tree growing up which we have adopted doing since in our own home so tend to leave it until mid-Dec to ensure its still looking good on the big day but this year DD happens to be away with her GP's the 1st weekend of December so we are thinking of putting it up (and toddler proofing it!) while she is away!
