Daily Fail story here
21 babies! That's some achievement. I cannot believe her body is still in one piece. I feel sorry for those kids though. There's absolutely no way they can all have the individual attention they need growing up. Four kids maybe, perhaps 6 at an absolute push but 21 seems like collecting trophies for a hobby to me. It'd be interesting to see what families those children decide to have when the time comes. It seems like she's putting her own want for babies ahead of her existing children's wellbeing & that isn't healthy. I'm curious that she's practically guaranteed herself an endless supply of babies as her children have children. But they're supposedly paying for everything themselves so we're not allowed to say anything against them. I don't agree with it. Tell me I'm being U.

I was being sarcastic, of course they are getting handouts. I don't begrudge them, I just wish they would stop pretending and banging on about paying their way. They don't allow talk of money now though, This Morning were told in advance not to ask money related questions.

Fallingout · 14/11/2018 16:42

@zzzzz the only plausible reason for your overreaction to very tame comments about them is that you are a family member.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 14/11/2018 17:04

I doubt they are earning a fortune from the shop.
I don't imagine many families in Morecambe spend nearly £14 in a family sized pie.

BadgersBiggestFan · 14/11/2018 17:06

As far as I can see the shop isn’t VAT registered so the turnover must be less than around £80000 I think. Not making a fortune.

@BadgersBiggestFan they get child benefit, they are open about that although Sue has gone quiet about the tax credits.

Fallingout · 14/11/2018 18:04

I’m pretty sure Nodlnsaid it was under £50,000 so when you deduct business costs and then add in the size of family, those tax credits would be very nice indeed.

Fallingout · 14/11/2018 18:04

Noel not Nodl🙄

christmaaaas · 14/11/2018 18:08

@Ihopeyourcakeisshit

They don't only sell 15 quid pies. They sell breakfasts, sandwiches, pies and cakes. It's very busy

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 14/11/2018 18:14

I seem to remember someone saying on a previous R thread that they also do pies by post. Apparently they do a roaring trade with their Facebook faithful.

tiredmumofmany · 14/11/2018 20:02

I don't think the online pie business does well now. It went mad at the beginning due to the fans but IIRC the pies were very expensive and the delivery added on made them extortionate.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 14/11/2018 20:09

christmaaaas it must be the smaller stuff that keeps them going then, because there aren't many people in Morecambe spending £15 on a pie.

tiredmumofmany · 14/11/2018 20:12

Just had a look at the prices, a family sized steak pie (which looks tiny) is £15.50 +£4.50 delivery. I can see why people were saying they were not priced realistically.

thomassmuggit · 14/11/2018 20:34

Surely a family sized pie should feed 25 people?

StoneofDestiny · 14/11/2018 20:44

Looked on the pie shop website. It says they have 18 children - bit out of date.

user1457017537 · 14/11/2018 20:51

I may be wrong but unles you are a restaurant or food is consumed on the premises, then there is no VAT. Food is zero rated

user1457017537 · 14/11/2018 20:55

I think it is more a case of gifts given and accepted ie holidays, nursery goods, cars etc., rather than payment from TV company.

NooNooHead · 14/11/2018 20:56

I’m sure it had an impact on their lives - of course adoption bloody does - but then so does genetics and health problems that are nothing to do with being adopted too. You could argue about many variables and factors that have influenced the Radfords and their family life that have more to do with their genes and the people they intrinsically are etc than the fact that adoption has any bearing on it. Of course it will have some influence, but it’s the whole nature / nurture debate that we could get into there too. My DB was adopted and he was totally different from me and his life choices were solely the result of the person he was, not the fact he was adopted and his upbringing. We both had equally good opportunities to live life to the full. He didn’t make the most of those chances.

Anyway, I digress. I’m sure there will be someone who will come along and poke holes in my post soon enough.Hmm

Drogosnextwife · 14/11/2018 21:05

I don't know why every one keeps banging on about them getting child benifit, everyone is entitled to it are they not?

Fallingout · 14/11/2018 21:07

When you get to the number of children that 4 of your daughters are Millie, Ellie, Tillie and Hallie you probably need to call it a day.
Just looked at The Sun photos, I don’t know, it’s not really selling to me a wholesome, healthy, thriving family.

Fallingout · 14/11/2018 21:08

@Drogosnextwife no
But also it’s the constant portrayal of them not claiming benefits when they do. And with so many children it’s a huge amount.

I’ve just seen the Sun birth announcement article. I see it’s yet another ‘this is the last one’. Number 20 was ‘happy to be finishing on a round number’. Yawnsome hooey.

mumto2babyboys · 15/11/2018 14:04

I'm not a fan. Have some doubts about them claiming tax credits as no national newspaper has exposed them yet and they would have surely

Also what will she do when she hits menopause?

Honestly think them being adopted has something to do with this madness

Theyprobablywill · 15/11/2018 14:16

Why would a national newspaper want to 'expose' them for (legally) claiming tax credits. Far more mileage from the annual ' this is our last one' errstories.
