Daily Fail story here
21 babies! That's some achievement. I cannot believe her body is still in one piece. I feel sorry for those kids though. There's absolutely no way they can all have the individual attention they need growing up. Four kids maybe, perhaps 6 at an absolute push but 21 seems like collecting trophies for a hobby to me. It'd be interesting to see what families those children decide to have when the time comes. It seems like she's putting her own want for babies ahead of her existing children's wellbeing & that isn't healthy. I'm curious that she's practically guaranteed herself an endless supply of babies as her children have children. But they're supposedly paying for everything themselves so we're not allowed to say anything against them. I don't agree with it. Tell me I'm being U.

I very much doubt that if he wasn't the owner he woukd be able to do that.

I can't imagine any employer would put up with either of them shutting up shop twice a day to go do the school run.

Nor the amount of time off needed to be taken to deal with multiple sick kids. A stomach bug must pretty much floor the lot of them for days on end .

I surely can't be the only one who thinks they are in a very precarious position. If the bakery folds and one of them has to get another job this will no longer be possible to do.

My dp is self employed. If he doesn't work he doesn't get paid.

Imagine the loss of business from school children and their parents if you shut the pie shop up at home time to go get your own kids.

I have stated on previous threads that the older children parent the little ones. All the girls, even the little ones, do the cleaning and keep house. The older ones work in the magical pie shop. It’s like something out of Dickens. The icing on the cake is removing the door handles so that the children can’t leave their rooms to give the parents privacy. One fish finger each as well. How anyone can think this is normal is beyond me.

Theyprobablywill · 12/11/2018 14:22

So the boys don't clean?

user1457017537 · 12/11/2018 14:28

No, apparently not.

Fallingout · 12/11/2018 14:31

And who runs the pie shop when they are on their holidays?
It is Dickensian.

Fallingout · 12/11/2018 14:33

Last night I had 3 children up repeatedly, I was thinking of the door handle. I couldn’t do it. We leave our doors open so they can come to us, or call and I can hear them. I’m now the lightest sleeper even and wake if a spider farts but that’s just my current role in life.

All the people saying they 'must' get child benefit and tax credits this is capped at 2 now I think (I don't get either for my 4th)

@Francis, try telling that to the extended family groups (that include multiple adults!) that are the bane of every hospital. It's almost always rough intimidating families too.

Fallingout · 12/11/2018 15:16

@WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup there were only 2 born since then? So however many they have left at home under 20 in full time education would be getting it.

Winterbella · 12/11/2018 15:20

How is their life impacting on anyone on here? who cares, they pay tax on their earnings and claim the relief they are entitled to so what, thousands of people who run their own company do the same thing every day too!

@Waitrose I thought you got CB for every additional child at a rate of £13.70 per week, provided you're not a higher rate taxpayer? Might be worth checking that out, I thought it was tax credits that had the 2-child cap.

SweetheartNeckline · 12/11/2018 16:43

www.gov.uk/child-benefit

"There's no limit to how many children you can claim for."

Winterbella · 12/11/2018 16:47

You can claim for as many children as you have, you will only be paid for two at a time.so if you have three kids you get paid for the first two but not the third, but once the eldest moves off the claim the third takes the additional child spot and you still get paid for two children. It is on Child benefit and Tax credits.

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 12/11/2018 16:51

Sweetheart Oh I didn't know that! No not higher rate tax payer (by a long way Blush) I don't think I will apply but interesting to know thank you!

SweetheartNeckline · 12/11/2018 17:04

@Winterbella, sorry I don't want to derail but my sister and a close friend have each had 4th babies within the last year and get £246 every 4 weeks, which means DC4 definitely qualified. This may change when universal credit is rolled out in our area of course. I wouldn't want anyone to lose out on money they need / are entitled to.

TheFairyCaravan · 12/11/2018 17:11

You can claim for as many children as you have, you will only be paid for two at a time.so if you have three kids you get paid for the first two but not the third,

That's not true. You can't claim for more than 2 children if all of them were born after April 2017 ( rape and multiple pregnancies excluded). Therefore the Radfords will only not be claiming for their 2 latest babies.

TheFairyCaravan · 12/11/2018 17:13

My comment up there makes no sense. Basically if you've already got 2 children anymore children born after April 2017 can't be claimed for.

Fallingout · 12/11/2018 17:15

On a tax credit claim, but any existing children will still qualify. And it doesn’t affect child benefit.

Fallingout · 12/11/2018 17:21

Grin agreeing with you fairy.

Stuckforthefourthtime · 12/11/2018 17:37

Winterbella it can be true that the UK has low population growth AND that the world is increasingly overpopulated. The population in many African countries in particular is exploding, and often in areas with existing high unemployment and propensity to famine - so even if we don't have a replacement level of children born here, we can guarantee to have plenty of opportunities to grow as overpopulation + lack of resources = immigration and often conflict. So no, we definitely don't need families of 21...
