costacoffeecup · 09/11/2018 12:10

Mummas always seem to have bubs too. Makes me cringe.

MrsGollach · 09/11/2018 12:15

"Little fella" Angry that's as bad as "little man" or "princess"

blueskiesandforests · 09/11/2018 12:16

Or uh as in cut and ah as in cat... Would have been more logical...

Plessis · 09/11/2018 12:18

Aw. My dcs call me Mumma. I love it!

needsanewname · 09/11/2018 12:22

She hates the word Mumma, not Mamma, they're completely different.

I also hate Mumma.

Roomba · 09/11/2018 12:22

Hubbalub! That's actually so hideous I may have to steal it and use it ironically... Although I don't actually have a hubbalub so will be limited in how often I can use it Grin

fourquenelles · 09/11/2018 12:22

What's wrong with Mater and Pater as in "Mater, no more gin for you" and "Pater, put that down!" shouted in a cut glass accent across a polo field? true story

(I do call my aged Ps that btw ; I am in my 60's and have an Estuary accent)

Roomba · 09/11/2018 12:23

Haha, DS1 likes to call me Mater occasionally, to take the piss when he thinks I'm getting above my station 😂

Plessis · 09/11/2018 12:24

Mine call me Mother when they are taking the piss

Blobby10 · 09/11/2018 12:25

I hate "Mumma Bear" . Dont know why it should grate on me but it does!

Plessis · 09/11/2018 12:25

As in (me cross that something filthy has been left on the floor) " (tut) dd!"

dd: "yes Mother?"

Redgreencoverplant · 09/11/2018 12:29

I am Mumma to DS. After an abusive childhood the word 'mum' has very negative connotations for me.

User24689 · 09/11/2018 12:29

Lol at hubbalub!

liverbird10 · 09/11/2018 12:41

"Little man" winds me up more. DO has started saying it to the cat. Angry

liverbird10 · 09/11/2018 12:42

*DP

gussiefox · 09/11/2018 12:42

My grandson calls my daughter "Mama". He is at the age where he shouts it to get her attention. Unfortunately I have started waiting for him to shout it and then I helpfully add ".........just killed a man...." I am a responsible grandparent most of the time, but I just can't resist doing this.

liverbird10 · 09/11/2018 12:45

@gussiefox Grin Excellent!

PumpkinKitty82 · 09/11/2018 12:46

My dd7 calls me mama and I love it .
If you want words to be pissed at try “hubby”

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 09/11/2018 12:47

My youngest calls me Ma. God knows why as I am mum to my eldest. I feel like a bad episode of The Clampits but he is an adult now so unlikely to change.

SoyDora · 09/11/2018 12:48

My DD’s call me Mumma, always have, and not at my instigation! Otherwise I’ve never heard it. Or ‘little legs’.
I hate Jeez though.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 09/11/2018 12:51

Rightly or wrongly I associate mama or mumma (which I’m sure sound the same) as either:
Foreign
Or
Pretentious instamummies.

Dislike for the second reason!

BertieBotts · 09/11/2018 12:52

I hate "doggo" and "pupper" it's a fucking dog.

Sexnotgender · 09/11/2018 12:52

Wee man is grim, I think it was ruined by an annoying colleague who’d constantly say the wee man did this, the wee man did that.

Little legs is weird.

BertieBotts · 09/11/2018 12:53

I've only heard little legs when people are actually talking about legs as in "At the end of the day when little legs are tired" or "I love it when he kicks his little legs".

Donna1001 · 09/11/2018 12:54

DD11 wants to stop calling me mummy, but is not ready to call my mum. She has settled on Mama.

I like it.
