Just that :P

I've had an upset stomach for days but have now realised that I could manage a piece of cheese on toast. Thanks OP.

LakieLady · 05/11/2018 15:25

Cheese on toast for breakfast - fine

Cheese on toast with a sliced tomato on top for breakfast - perfectly fine

Add a beaten egg to the grated cheese - bloody lovely

Slice of ham (naice ham, natch) below all of the above - food of the gods

If I'm on a bit of a health kick, I'll miss out buttering the toast.

Are you one of DD’s teachers, OP?

In which case I think you will find that your real objection is not that she eats cheese on toast (actually, more often, due to lack of time, cheese with toast) but rather the nature of the cheese. I can’t help that she is a strange child and loves cheese so obnoxiously stinky that I won’t let it in the fridge, but I do apologise for her breath....

If you prefer, she could revert to her previous favourite combo of cheese and salami......?

spookyspookyspookhole · 05/11/2018 17:37

I know what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow

MumGoneCrazy · 05/11/2018 17:42

Best breakfast ever Grin

dorisdog · 05/11/2018 17:44

Put some tomatoes on it too, and you've practically got a pizza for breakfast. This is my idea of heaven!

Obi73 · 05/11/2018 17:55

Really? 1st world problems - get over yourself!

Booboo66 · 05/11/2018 17:57

Ive been questioning the suitability of my girls toast, butter and banana for a while. I hadn’t thought of cheese but realise now that’s the missing link. One doesn’t like eggs but I don’t really have time
To make them anyway. This is an ideal alternative somthanks for the post

MadCatsBabies · 05/11/2018 17:57

What's wrong with it? It has to be better than empty calories of sugar filled breakfast cereal or some sugar loaded breakfast bar??

Togaandsandals · 05/11/2018 17:59

Calorie consumption will even out over the day as wholemeal bread and cheese v filling. Some fat in the daily diet is not bad.

PickAChew · 05/11/2018 18:01

It's a bloody great breakfast and I wish I could still eat it without regret.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 05/11/2018 18:06

daisy! That’s appalling!🤢
A big dollop of the brown stuff is essential!

WoollyMollyMonkey · 05/11/2018 18:06

I couldn’t stomach that for breakfast, but for lunch - yes please!

VerbeenaBeeks · 05/11/2018 18:12

Not read the thread but cheese on toast sounds like a damn fine breakfast to me.
Have a big YABVU Grin

1forAll74 · 05/11/2018 18:13

Oh,no,,have never heard anything so silly,, I have had cheese on toast for breakfast,,lunch, teatime, and supper, any old time, for well over 70 years. Welsh rarebit is good as well. A lot of nonsense talked about food these days. !

AnotherRanger · 05/11/2018 18:18

Or you could have cheese on toast for breakfast, maccies for lunch, cake for afternoon tea, curry for dinner, family sized bar of chocolate afterwards. Not fine.

That sounds like heaven to me Grin

DoctorTwo · 05/11/2018 18:22

It's not a good breakfast, it's an amazing breakfast, especially when it's topped with baked beans.

Poppylizzyrose · 05/11/2018 18:36

I had that this morning, I only like brown bread toasted with cheese. Two rounds with cheese butter and pepper, one round (usually the crust) with marmite, cup of tea and two satsumas. Grin

AnnabelC · 05/11/2018 18:39

Topped with tomato and peppery rocket. Yum.

Caprisunorange · 05/11/2018 18:41

I had this this morning, inspired by this thread! Hardly high calorie, a quick google puts it at 411 calories

gamerchick · 05/11/2018 18:46

I like a cheese toastie most mornings. I miss the tomato but it does. Fills me up until mid afternoon. What's not to like? Grin

katseyes7 · 05/11/2018 18:47

When l was a student, many moons ago, l used to have cheese on toast every morning for breakfast. Bloody lovely!

dontalltalkatonce · 05/11/2018 18:48

Eh? Don't be a fool, of course it's a fine breakfast. Don't go to the Netherlands or Germany, where cheese and cold cuts with bread are quite a regular breakfast.

BackBoiler · 05/11/2018 18:51

Eggy bread with marmite on top and topped with cheese then grilled Grin. If you use minimal oil to do the eggy bread then its beaut!
