you know that 'perfect weight' was invented between the wars by actuaries trying to work out 'average lifespans' - they came up with a weight that we were 'supposed' to be for a longer life. Completely plucked out of the air (as people were dying younger as a result of the wars, they had no records to rely on).
Overnight the weightloss industry was born! They realised that they could sell almost anything as 'weightloss' food - if people lost weight, they could claim success, if they didn't, well there was a captive market! They knew that fat was more calorific, so pushed a LowFat diet. And in the decades since then, we have got fatter and fatter. Because there is no evidence that LowFat is any good for you.
We don't know how to listen to our bodies any more;
Sell 'Lowfat' cereals (full of sugar) and by mid-morning you are craving a biscuit because your bloodsugar has crashed. Sell Lowfat biscuits.
Have a sandwich for lunch - sell low fat spread (even rats won't eat this!) and low fat mayo. [boak] By mid-afternoon you will have another biscuit, due to the sugar crash.
Low-fat high carb dinner. Followed by cake/pudding/biscuit. With LowFat custard. Your blood sugars are all over the place.
Honestly, a High fat breakfast (eggs, or continental meat and cheese, or my favourite, High Fat yoghurt with crushed Linseeds) and you will be full till lunch. No mid morning biscuit, no sugar crash
Lunch - salad with meat/cheese/eggs/fish and fullfat mayo or Olive oil. Lovely, tasty, filling, healthy. No biscuits, don't need them,
Dinner - meat and low carb veg (Cauli, brocolli, green beans, swede, celeriac, kale etc) - filling and healthy. Plenty of veg for your 5-a-day.
Do this for a week and then try a biscuit. Guaranteed, it will be too sweet.
LethalDrizzle - not confusing at all. Eating fat means you are not eating biscuits and sweet stuff in between meals.
