In your school? That happened to come out as the truth, or a lie?.
Just finished reading a really good thread on it and would love to hear more.
When I was in school the rumour was the classic someone put a mars bar somewhere it shouldn't... and that a teacher was having an affair with a pupil. (Wasn't true). Oh we also had the pe teacher apparently having an affair with the English teacher. That was true!.

@Maelwaedd Does the area name start with an F and how on earth did you recognise it?? I mean, you must be my Year in school by the sounds of it!

BrokenMachine · 27/10/2018 22:42

That our English teacher was sleeping with a year 11. True. It was me. Massively regret it and don’t know what I was thinking now.

anitagreen · 27/10/2018 22:50

There was anther one someone made up about me that I was in the field across the road from school (could see it out the window)
having sex before school on the swings of all places.
My DM got called into school the lot I was only 15. The truth was I actually had been BUT no one had known except me and my bf at the time. And the park bit was an actual rumour I never admitted I actually had been before school

BrokenMachine, the English teacher was to blame, not you.

We had various versions of the mars bar rumour- including hairbrush (bristles first- unproven) and broom handle. Apparently the poor girl with the broom handle slipped off he worktop and it killed her/gave her internal splinters, depending on the version. (not true, as she came in to school the next day walking fine)

Justyou · 27/10/2018 23:01

Maelstrop, I think same school here too Grin

Nunyabusiness · 27/10/2018 23:07

@PawneeParksDept I think we went to the same school, at least the English teacher story makes me think we did!

sophisticatedsarcasm · 27/10/2018 23:07

When I was at school there were several rumours. 2 of the biggest I could remember was the time I pushed a really annoying boy out of my way (he had been harassing me all day) he accidentally slid off the table. It went around the school that I picked him up and threw him across the room. 😬
Another one was my friend lost her virginity one weekend, the next Monday 2 of the most gossipy girls came up to me and asked how my first time was, I had no idea what they were talking about, turns out it somehow got around the school it was me. 🤔

Fanciedachange1 · 27/10/2018 23:08

A year 11 girl would brag that she was having an affair with the married school bus driver. She would tell us details like how she would get off the bus and then get back on once it was empty and he would drive somewhere and they would have sex on the back seats.

She would tell us very specific details, involving strawberry condoms, blow jobs etc and the strangest part was that she would openly say this in front of him!

He never denied anything or said any of it was true.. one day the bus pulled up and it was a new driver. Nobody ever knew what happened to the other one. We suspected someone reported him but it never came out in the news so i dont know whether it was true or just a teenage fantasist.

sizzledrizz · 27/10/2018 23:10

In primary school, two married teachers were having an affair, it was true
In secondary school, two PE teachers were having an affair, and left their OHs half way through the year, the male PE teacher then started an affair with the biology teacher
Geography teacher was an alcoholic and would go to the pub at lunch time and come back steaming
In 5th year, a girl was working as a prostitute and would have sex with a group of workmen at lunchtimes, sadly was true

jollyjester · 27/10/2018 23:11

Boarding master was a paedophile- true . He will unlilely never get out of prison.

Music teacher was a paedophile- also true. He was grooming teenage boys.

It's scary how many paedophile stories are on this thread.

jammydodger5 · 27/10/2018 23:21

I was late into school and my classmates asked my sister where I was and she said I'd been hit by a lorry
NOT TRUE

jcsp · 27/10/2018 23:31

I was a form teacher and inadvertently started a rumour about myself.

I think it was when a child told me that he’d get his Dad in to beat me up. It was an escalating argument in which I must have told him that I has a black belt in karate.

Every so often a child would ask me about my black belt. I’d avoid the question, tell them I wasn’t wearing a belt, told them I’d discuss it later etc etc.

Other teachers were asked about it, some didn’t know, some were in on it.

It went on for years, the rumour must have been passed down to younger siblings.

It wasn’t true, the nearest I got was an orange belt in Judo. (Beginners colour I think)

AviatorShades · 27/10/2018 23:49

In the science lab there was a baby's foetus preserved in a jar of formaldehyde. This was the unborn baby of our headmistress, Miss xxx!
True or false? Well, we believed itGrin
Didn't believe tho, that the human skeleton was that of our Royal founder. That was just plain daft, it was probably the skeleton of a homeless man with no family of his own so no money to bury himGrinGrin

WhyAmISoCold · 28/10/2018 00:10

In Primary I got hit by a car, when I went back to school, the rumour was that I had died! It was actually witnessed by 2 of my classmates as they were out playing down from where it happened.

I never heard this rumour at the time but I since heard a girl in my year was having an affair with the elderly bus driver. She married him and had a his baby so that was true, and bloody gross!

Loads of sixth formers and young teacher affairs, I expect they were all true, some were definitely seen out together, usually English teachers for some reason. PE teacher and French teacher were having an affair, true.

Lots and lots of teen pregnancies, all true.

Murmeli · 28/10/2018 00:26

@Bluetrews25 we must have gone to same school....yes that one was true.

Atchiclees · 28/10/2018 00:42

A desk was haunted by a sheep.

The beef burgers on the lunch menu were actually horsemeat brought in by the cook who was married to a Frenchman.

That the chemistry teacher had a special outdoor coat made that had a false arm. He would always be watching the girls play netball at lunch and the false arm was his was there so he could wank under his coat. The boys would deliberately try to get a football to hit his arm to see if it was true. We all think it probably was true as for years and years the arm stayed the same and his hand in his pocket.

foxyliz26 · 28/10/2018 00:44

That one girl known to be a lesbian was seeing 4 female teachers (untrue) I was only seeing 2 of them

another rumour in the 1970,s was that I was pregnant (true ) and the father was another girl who everyone thought was really a boy ( untrue )

but he is a man now !

PawneeParksDept · 28/10/2018 01:02

@Nunyabusiness Roughly what part of the country?

JingsMahBucket · 28/10/2018 01:47

I find it really interesting that a lot of posters talking about teachers having relations with female students call it "an affair" but when it's with boys, they call it "paedophilia" or "abusing". Not all mind you, but a good majority are. I'm not blaming people either just noting the conditioning.

Shriekingbanshee · 28/10/2018 01:15

It's paedophilia, either way. But male on female generally seen as the more vulnerable for young girls because, no I don't conditioning, but because it isn't the same. As we all know its gendered. Hence PPs differing attitudes.

Nunyabusiness · 28/10/2018 01:20

@PawneeParksDept Bedfordshire

Sashkin · 28/10/2018 05:49

Several of our teachers were paedophiles (true). The German teacher in particular had been sacked from his previous job for abusing the boys (true, we were a private school with low standards). The PE teacher was a lesbian (she always insisted we remove our bras for PE so probably true).

Our chemistry teacher had PTSD from being burned alive in a car crash (true). He and most of the other male teachers were alcoholics (true, we’d see them completely legless in the pub on a regular basis, they used to buy us drinks when we were 14).

The music teacher (m) and one of the English teachers (f) were having an affair (no idea but they were certainly very friendly outside of work).

One girl got her finger slammed in a door and it amputated her finger (true, it was one of my friends and it had to be surgically reattached).

Various rumours about “Smartie parties” (true in at least one case, a girl in my year was pressured into it by her on-off boyfriend and then he told everyone). Same girl was also spit-roasted in public at a party at the behest of the same shitcunt boyfriend during a game of spin the bottle (semi-true, we all saw it happen. He dared her to give his mate a BJ then started fingering her from behind at the same time but they didn’t actually have sex).

MsHopey · 28/10/2018 06:52

@DRE56322
We had the broom handle one but it wasn't about a specific person and she did die in the rumour.

That the maths teachers wife has bitten his nose off and his nose was a prosthetic. I don't know for sure but I have a feeling he just has a terrible nose and possibly a medical condition.

The PE teacher was a lesbian. Not true, I have her on Facebook and she's married with a baby.

That I had met a 70 year old bloke off the internet and had lost my virginity to him. Well, I met my DH online when i was 17, and yes, it was my virginity, but he is 2 months older than me, we'd been together a few months when it happened. And we've now been together over 9 years. Not that I particularly like my business being spread around, I found out it was an ex friend of mine who started the rumour, so other friends must have been talking about me and she elaborated to make it a better rumour. 17 year old sleeps with 17 year old boyfriend is not very dramatic.

Maelwaedd · 28/10/2018 07:04

@maelstrop and @justyou I knew all the same rumours but had left before the PE teacher and English teacher got married. I found out from friends in the years below me. I worked in the same place as him a few years later, after he left teaching, but I didn't let on I was an ex pupil. I was an "L" girl and was in the 6th form year associated with the colour red.

Angelil · 28/10/2018 07:10

All of these allegations of paedophilia are ridiculous.

If you are talking about teenagers then at least use the proper term - ephebophilia.
