To have thought I was the only OW...

We first met on my drive about 4 months ago. He came straight over to me as soon as he saw me. As he came over it was almost as if he was excited, which was weird because we had never met before. I thought he looked absolutely lovely. Beautiful black hair. Little bit of white going through it that I thought was really charming.

I fed him a little bit of tuna, and after that he wouldn't leave me alone! I have to admit, I loved the attention as my own cat had died a few months prior. I knew he had an owner, because he had a collar. But I just carried on feeding him because he was such a lovely little kitty! He even stopped over a few nights when my DH was away - nooooo way would DH let me have a random cat in the house!

I knew who his owner was as I saw him being let in a few times. Then one day, I noticed him being let into our next door neighbours!!! I couldn't believe it!!! I thought i was his second home!!! Turns out I was just one of many. He's being fed by multiple women on our street!!! In fact, his owner has had to stop feeding him because of how much he's being fed by other people!!! (I spoke to on her drive this morning).

Feeling very betrayed. I will have to stop feeding him now. Fat shit.

Catbastard. Block his number and try to keep yourself busy til it stops hurting.

DayManChampionOfTheSun · 14/10/2018 11:47

I know it's a joke but this stuff scares the crap out me me, I would be in bits if either of my cats dissappeared for the night into someone elses house!

LucieMorningstar · 14/10/2018 11:48

Don’t take it personally op. Cats have no morals 💐 😂

BertramKibbler · 14/10/2018 11:48

Six dinner Sid

cardibach · 14/10/2018 11:49

While this is all very amusing, it’s really Shiite to feed a cat you ‘ ow has a good home. I’ve lost my love,y little cat this way -she’s just moved out and gone to the other house. Cats do this sometimes. It doesn’t mean your home/care/food/love is better. I think YABVU and unkind and actually a bit of a thief, OP. This isn’t even really a lighthearted response.

NotANotMan · 14/10/2018 11:49

Stop feeding other people's cats. I can't believe you let him stay in your house for a few days! Can you imagine how worried his owners would have been?

SoupDragon · 14/10/2018 11:49

Please don’t feed other people’s cats or keep them in at night. I had SO much trouble trying to keep my last cat’s weight down.

cardibach · 14/10/2018 11:50

Nightwatch999 · 14/10/2018 11:50

OP Grin hahaha the fat shit bit made me laugh lol!

AlpacaLypse · 14/10/2018 11:51

I know this is meant to be 'light-hearted' but I'd be livid if you fed AlpacaCat tuna. It gives her eczema.

lexi727 · 14/10/2018 11:55

@DayManChampionOfTheSun they don't let him in at night! He's free to come in throughout the day but at night he goes outside and they lock the cat flap so he can't get back in.

OP posts:
lexi727 · 14/10/2018 11:56

Everyone just to make this clear - the cat isn't allowed into his owners house at night. They have a bed in their shed for him. It was cold when I let him come in the house as I felt bad!

lexi727 · 14/10/2018 12:00

@WeeMadArthur I'm going to have to. Sigh. Goodbye forever, Bertie.

When my delightful 3 legged dcat went missing I was one of 3 cat slaves that put missing dcat posters up!!
Little bloody shit!! Where were the others when he turned up after ten nights missing one October with a back leg snapped and hanging off (sorry tmi!)?
No offers of vet bill contributions!!
Sadly he never returned that time.
Jona you were sadly missed.

Oddcat · 14/10/2018 12:01

I’d be livid if someone kept my cat in their house overnight ! This cat is not yours , you are interfering with someone else’s pet , stop doing it .

cardibach · 14/10/2018 12:01

You are feeding him and encouraging him to move it though. It’s shitty. No excuses. And as Alpaca says you have no way of knowing the health needs of someone else’s cat. He isn’t yours. Stop making this a joke.

mimibunz · 14/10/2018 12:02

His ‘owners’ sound cruel for not letting him in at night.

DayManChampionOfTheSun · 14/10/2018 12:03

lexi727 that's just mad to me! Mine are in a 9, they know their curfew haha

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 14/10/2018 12:04

Work on your self esteem and go NC

lexi727 · 14/10/2018 12:05

@Oddcat I let him in somewhere where it was warm, as he has to sleep in a shed! When I spoke to his owner this morning she said he had always been like this, ever since he was first let out as a kitten!

OP posts:
lexi727 · 14/10/2018 12:06

@DayManChampionOfTheSun apparently he's always been a bit of a wild one. But they've never let him inside at night, that's why I felt sorry for him :(

OP posts:
lexi727 · 14/10/2018 12:07

@cardibach have spoke to owners - he's a very independent cat and has never slept indoors. Always elsewhere or in their shed.

Starlight345 · 14/10/2018 12:08

Can’t you get your own cat ? We have a cat locked out most the time. Next door . He is fed but he is fed and cared for not my cat. He is not a stray who need feeding

InfiniteVariety · 14/10/2018 12:14

Please don't feed other people's cats! My cat is on a special diet to stop crystals forming in his bladder because he has had quite a severe problem and the vet said it is important he eats this medicated food ONLY. Sometimes he comes home at dinner time but seems suspiciously un-hungry and I worry someone else has fed him, not realising it could make him ill
