To compare Eugenie and Meghan

And say Eugenie won hands down re her style? I thought she was elegant and regal and beautiful.

These people don’t do or say anything. We can only judge them by their bloody dresses. Apparently no one even knew before this week how to pronounce her name!

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 13/10/2018 00:20

I knew. It's "you-gen-ee" to rhyme with "use-your-knee". Tatler helpfully told me that when they interviewed her about a decade ago!

SemperIdem · 13/10/2018 00:31

Eugenie looked lovely. As did Meghan, as did Kate. As other’s have said, everyone is going to favour the dress which is most like their own style.

pigsDOfly · 13/10/2018 00:41

They're both young women dressed in expensive white dresses with their hair and make up professionally done.

It's their wedding day, no expense has been spared and they're having a wonderful dream wedding.

Like most brides they look happy and in love - I'm assuming that, I didn't actually watch either wedding.

Most brides, with the occasional exception, look lovely on their wedding day. It's not a competition.

cueominousmusic · 13/10/2018 00:42

@duskmauve: Meghan’s by far the most beautiful one out of the lot. Probably the lack of inbreeding in her family to thank for that.

Ooh, inbreeding in Kate Middleton's family? I didn't know that. Please, dish the dirt.

Ummm not really!

RatherSheepish · 13/10/2018 07:51

The dress was nice but matronly rather than something for a woman in her 20s. Overall I preferred Kate and Meghan's simpler gowns. But both of them are beautiful women and didn't need a heavy fabric or elaborate tiara to detract from their lack of looks. Eugenie looked fine and is attractive but I wouldn't call her beautiful - she's a bit too heavy-featured for that. If she wasn't a royal she'd be nothing out of the ordinary.

Thisreallyisafarce · 13/10/2018 08:00

I thought Eugenie looked beautiful. As did Meghan. As did Kate. Most women are going to, with clothes made to measure by the best designers, professional hair and make-up and millions of pounds worth of diamonds.

grannyscobwebs · 13/10/2018 08:08

Sure, sweetie. I’m guessing this has nothing to do with race, right??

@SecretWitch wins the award for most passive aggressive comment.

The DM has an article this morning criticising what Harry wore, just to even it up.

JellyBears · 13/10/2018 08:23

They both looked beautiful and picked beautiful dresses that suited them.

ambereeree · 13/10/2018 08:29

Meghan is the more beautiful- there's a reason why she's an actress. But Eugene looked like royalty which she is- classy and elegant. Really the whole wedding seemed more royal.

It saddens me that people feel the need.

Threads like this make me 🤢

Are we still comparing dresses?

PineappleFwitters · 13/10/2018 10:23

Meghan - has degree from a respected university, starred in a fairly successful tv series for years, had done considerable charity work even before she met Harry, has carried out more royal engagements than any other royal fiancée I can remember.

Eugenie - a "blood princess", took 25 days holiday in the first ten weeks at a job she only got because of her name.

So yes, YABU to compare them OP!

Siun · 13/10/2018 10:51

Not being beautiful shouldn't be a criticism of any woman. Taking 25 days holiday in the first ten weeks of a new job though, wow. That is shabby.

SillySallySingsSongs · 13/10/2018 11:53

Apart from the fact this is nothing to do with the dresses. I must have missed the memo where only 'beautiful' people are actresses

Pemba · 13/10/2018 12:01

I think they both looked lovely and had lovely weddings. I do slightly prefer Eugenie's dress I have to say, but I adore Meghan and got quite excited about their wedding (was it in May?), not so bothered about this one.

There has not been anywhere near so much media coverage of Eugenie, so a bit unfamiliar with her, but she seemed nice and looked very attractive, and obviously deeply in love, so that's sweet. I thought displaying her scar was brave too.

DastardlyDoris · 13/10/2018 12:06

Why is it so impossible to lift one woman up without dragging another down?

YABVVVU

LaurieMarlow · 13/10/2018 12:06

I think Meghan is absolutely stunning, but I did prefer Eugenie's dress, nice to see her finding a style that suits her.

HeartburnCentral · 13/10/2018 12:13

They are both very attractive girls …

This ^ reminds me of Father Ted and The lovely girls competition.
Fr Ted: "Doesn't Mary have a lovely bottom."
Other Priest: "Now Ted, you don't want to offend the girls."
Fr Ted: "Oh, Of course! Don't all the girls have lovely bottoms" Grin

BrightonGallery7 · 13/10/2018 13:05

Eugenie is the “more beautiful”.

BrightonGallery7 · 13/10/2018 13:06

She was like a fairytale princess marrying a delightful man who does not fidget. Perfection.

lexi727 · 13/10/2018 13:08

They both looked beautiful, there is no need for a comparison. Why must we constantly pit women against other women.
