Hello :)

I'm just curious really - I was talking to a friend and said I was hoping to be in my old clothes 3 months after the birth - it's my first baby and I'm naturally very slim, the only weight I've gained in the pregnancy is basically bump/baby. She said I was BU and that it would take at least 12 months! I know losing the weight really isn't the be all and end all but just for my own reasons really I'd love to be in a situation by then where my pre pregnancy clothes would fit (unless of course I have a c sect or very difficult birth that means I can't actually get out for walks and stuff for a while!)

I guess my question is am I being unrealistic? Interested to hear everyone else's stories?!

10 years and still haven't. Just bought new jeans.

Tomatoesrock · 08/10/2018 16:20

On my first about 3 months . I am naturally slim but I was eating lots of sugary quick food. On my 2nd I was thinner than before i got pregnant within days, he is nearly 4 now and constantly on the move so I'm only regaining it this year.

Jakethekid · 08/10/2018 16:24

First one was only a week. I had severe morning sickness when I was pregnant though and it was all bump. Sadly I then put weight on over the last 2 years. I am now pregnant again and again I am suffering terribly from morning sickness and have lost all the weight I put on and fit in my pre first pregnancy jeans again. Can't see that lasting much longer though

powercutie · 08/10/2018 16:24

Two years. Both times. But I gain a lot of weight when I'm pregnant.

DwangelaForever · 08/10/2018 16:26

I'm 3 weeks postpartum this coming Thursday and I'm 5lbs lighter than I was pre pregnancy. My womb is obvs still swollen so some of my old clothes are uncomfortable but I went to a family birthday party for half an hour on Saturday in a pair of my pre pregnancy jeans and they fitted.

TeenagersDoMyHeadIn · 08/10/2018 16:30

My boys are both at university and I'm still trying.....

Justabadwife · 08/10/2018 16:33

I left hospital in them. But tbf I could have stretcher them as I wore them as under bump jeans throughout. (I hated them over the bump jeans)
I couldn't get them on now though, 9 years later, I doubt I could even get my leg in them. 🤨

whatdoido33 · 08/10/2018 16:33

I'm 20, size 8 and only weight I gained was baby bump and I was in my jeans in 3 days Grin she did come 8 weeks early though so I feel like I cheated a bit!

beefandonionon · 08/10/2018 16:38

First baby :- walked out of hospital in my size 8s
Second baby :- 5 years and counting Grin

Raspberry66 · 08/10/2018 16:45

3-6 weeks.

steff13 · 08/10/2018 17:04

Within a week with all, but I'm overweight and lost weight with all three pregnancies.

EnglishRose13 · 08/10/2018 17:23

6 days.

SleepyMcEdie · 08/10/2018 17:25

A few days and I could get back in most things. I didn’t put on much weight though other than baby.

Walkerbean16 · 08/10/2018 17:27

all three have been a week. but i have also lost weight every time i have been pregnant as i go off food.

TheOrigFV45 · 08/10/2018 17:38

Really quickly for me both times, at age 28 and 38.
Very slim, weight was just baby and ...I don't know blood and water I guess- it all left me fairly quickly!
Breastfed (never known a hunger like it).

TheOrigFV45 · 08/10/2018 17:42

oliver even though I am very slim and toned my belly will always have that corrugated look I think, unless I had cosmetic surgery.
It's the only way (apart from looking inside I guess) you can tell I've had kids.

81Byerley · 08/10/2018 17:45

40 years? Wink

Solderingiron · 08/10/2018 17:46

Well 10 months after the birth of my baby I'm starting to try to make my way back to a size 8. Had a very difficult pregnancy and lost about a stone at the start and then put on about 3 stone! Hate the weight I am at the moment, I hope to be down 2 dress sizes by February

OliveOrTwist · 08/10/2018 17:56

TheOrig it's still early days for me but I just don't see how my skin can bounce back, my bump was huge Sad

Searchingforaschool · 08/10/2018 18:00

This thread is really depressing with all the people loosing the weight so easily, I'm really struggling 3 months on Sad

SunflowerSally · 08/10/2018 18:03

15 years!

SinkGirl · 08/10/2018 18:05

Two years and counting... twins, unresolved diastastis recti, c section and body that’s completely changed shape. I’m not ever getting back in them!

Fatasfook · 08/10/2018 18:06

8 years since I gave birth and I have accepted that I will never be the size I was before pregnancy

Chrisinthemorning · 08/10/2018 18:07

Months and months. I lost the weight quickly- in fact I lost weight while of once you subtracted DS and approx weight of placenta and waters etc. I had a CS though and I couldn’t wear anything on that area for ages. Not just on the scar either- think I have adhesions.
6 year on I am fatter but jeans are fine!

LoniceraJaponica · 08/10/2018 18:14

Please don't beat yourself up Searchingforaschool. I think it depends how much weight you put on during pregnancy. I couldn't put much extra weight on because I couldn't eat very much. Being pregnant didn't make me feel hungry, and I was full after a few mouthfuls.
